Great story. But all i could think at the end was "and now, with the weapon gone, Earth once again subjucated Venus." Realpolitik

Amazed at how well this was narrated. This is efficient storytelling at its finest.

I love Asimov been reading sci-fi since the 1950s. Some great books and stories just aching to be turned into movies. Maybe treated better than Heinlein has been (Starship Troopers-PU!). Well read and a great pick. The art of the short story. Thank you.

Unfortunately, we have proven that there is no weapon too dreadful to use.

I find it odd Asimov used Venus. It was still relatively unexplored except for the Russkies' series Venera which began in '61. From the data that started trickling in for the next decade it was pretty clear Venus did not or could not support life. I guess Issac was using his "artistic license" to make a story nonetheless. He's my first science author, my first sci-fi author, and later favorite guest on science shows. Having him along with Arthur C Clark inspire my love of well written sci-fi. We need more gifted writers. The lack of created the Marvel mania where writing is a threatened species in Hollywood.

Post modern morality play. I love Asimov.
