Yaaaas so glad someone else understands what I meant. I was excited at first because the two sisters were like late 20’s early 30’s so I wasn’t expecting a romance that felt more like it should be between teenagers 😅
🐉 so glad you liked Godkiller ✨ I’ve got less than 100 pages left to read of Sunbringer, I adore these books so much! Thank you for this video, your video’s are always great. 🌻
Yaaaaas. The first 30% of Sunbringer I was like uhm is this gonna be middle book syndrome galore? It definitely wasn’t 🤣 I did miss the banter between Kissen and Inara though Awwww thank you so much that’s so kind of you 🤗🤗
I knew ACOSF would be the bottom pick 🤣 The graphic audio versions are hilarious. I can't even imagine what it was like for the actors to record them. You talking about the stairs reminds me of the Legally Blonde gif - "what, like it's hard?" lol. The Buffy musical episode is the best. I'll be curious to see how you feel about The Last Hours- my friend Alexa and I have been calling the last book The Real Housewives of Shadwohunters. It's a time. I'm really excited to read Fae-Bound! I still have to read Godkiller and The Dragonbone Chair!
How’d you guess? 💀🫠🤣 they were truly quite funny even when I dont think they were intending to be. I still don’t understand why there was so much emphasis on her like collapsing from exhaustion from going down the stairs but never a mention of her having any issues going back up 💀🤣 I also love the musical episode it has a magical camp that ACOFAS lacked for me. I mean I do like real housewives but you have me nervous for Last Hours. I hope you love Faebound, I’m confident you’ll at least like it. Maybe not love but I think you’ll like it 🤣 ooooh Godkiller I feel like you’d think is super fun, I don’t know how you feel about classic LotR style fantasy. But if that’s your jam TDBC is fantastic!!! I still need to try Kingkiller. Every time I talk to you I’m reminded that I should at least try name of the wind 🤣
That's a good point about Feyre's forcefield scene. Someone said the book is from Nesta's perspective and that's why some characters feel "out of character," but they still just felt like different people to me and I didn't care for that... BUT, on the whole, I did enjoy Silver Flames! I was into the training and the competition at the end, though I did NOT like how that turned out. hahaha I have seen quite a few negative reviews for Faebound but it sounded so good. I'm glad you had some positive things to say! I may bump that higher up my TBR. I have her other books too but haven't read them yet. 🐉
Yay someone who understand what I mean with the dumb forcefield. I would push back on it "being from Nesta's perspective therefore she sees people differently" argument as we are following Nesta but it's not like we are in her had all the time seeing how she perceives situations. But oh well, ACOSF was fine and I will still keep reading the MassVerse I am too deep at this point lol. As foe Faebound, I still think it's worth your time I just don't know that this first book will be mind-blowing so pick it up when you want something more comfort-ready as the classic races and what not are there just with little spins.
Yaaas. If you enjoyed Godkiller I think you’ll really enjoy Sunbringer too. My biggest complaint is that we get almost 0 banter with Inara and Kissen in this one and that was one of my favorite things from the first book
Awesome video Rodger! I’ve had Dragonbone Chair on my list forever. I really need it get to it sometime, but I’ve been craving shorter books lol. I want to read Empire of the Wolf too. 🐉
Thanks Chas!!! Oooh well fair warning there are no living dragons, at least in book one. Yeah the series is definitely not short. I hope you like Empire of the Wolf if you get to it!
Will never get enough of the romantasy rants 🤣 I mean, fair points on ACOSF... I just ate it all up anyway lol. And I feel you on Faebound, it was good, but I was hoping for a bit more after how strong her debut was. I feel like the marketing for that book is doing it a disservice, because they are pushing it as a romantasy and the romance is quite literally the weakest aspect of the entire story. YAY for Godkiller though, I have been meaning to read that ever since it was released. Should probably do so asap with the sequel coming out. I had no idea it was so casually diverse, love to hear it! ☺ And wow, I'd never have guessed that The Dragonbone Chair would be so good. Gonna keep that on my radar when I am craving classic fantasy. Hope March treats you well, friend 🥰
Hahaha it’s ok you’re just a SJM girlie nothing wrong with that. Yeah it really is being marketed as romantasy (Faebound) and that is by far the weakest aspect of that story so… 😅🤣 You’ll love Godkiller. Next time you need a short little adventure that doesn’t overstay its welcome, pick it up. I know right? I was shocked it was so good. I need to get to book 2 asap
@@RodgersReadsYeah I have just accepted that I am trash for SJM, there's no fighting it lmao and I will keep you updated on when I pick up Godkiller! Is it going to be a duology or a trilogy?
@@esmayrosalyne nothing wrong with that, it’s like me making excuses for the 3-4 books in Anita that aren’t that good and are pure smut 💀🤣 Yaaaaas. I think a trilogy, definitely not a duology 🙈
Oh my god. But did the Ygatan stuff in the Bonehunters not give you chills?! The fires and then the journey underneath the city...I read that book over 2 years ago. That scene still gives me claustrophobia when I think about it. I've read all the Shadowhunters books. I didn't love this latest series. The first book was good but then the last two were pretty disappointing.
So I’m very not the norm with Malazan because I have found that something about the way Erikson does characters and dramatic moments sucks literally any emotional connection out of it for me. So I remember the scene you’re talking about with the mage who uses rats to help them navigate and escape the city as it’s being destroyed but I don’t have any visceral reactions to it 🙈 I’m almost there hahaha just the last hours, and then the random Magnus and Alec side series but I have been waiting to do that one until the 3rd book comes out but it’s been several years so I’m wondering if she’ll ever release it lol. Boo for the most recent trilogy being disappointing though
