Both of my parents are lefties and my siblings and I are all right handed - although I think I'm a confused right hander growing up with 2 lefties, I do a few things like a lefty. 🤪

I made 7 of these book pillows last December for grand- nieces and nephews age 2-7 for Christmas. They loved them. I included 2 of my children's favorite hardcover books in each. And some children size favorite snacks. I did reinforce the top of the book pocket and used a decorative stitch since bias binding can sometimes slip on the back. That way it was pretty and functional for stitching. My pillows were also 16 inches and I still get pictures with the children using them. Good for car trips for children. Great instructions.

@@Kalaura It's a great ruler! If you want all the details in a printable pdf you can find it in my Etsy shop - etsy.me/3ZAF0Df Otherwise you want to cut two pieces of fabric 16½" x 13", hem a side on each and then use them as the back. Have fun!

It's called "Happy at Home" - you can ask your favorite quilt shop, online fabric shop, google or check Etsy (honestly, searching "Happy at Home Riley Blake" will probably get you more results than "Happy at Home Tara Reed") Glad you like it! Is bias tape just folded over cloth sewed over the edge of another piece of cloth?

The pocket has a front fabric and fusible fleece ironed onto the lining - then the bias tape goes over that.

Absolutely. You could also do an envelope back so the pillow can be removed and the cover cleaned (those directions are included in the pattern on Etsy)
