I already knew how to do all of this but you mentioned one thing I did not know. You said to use a long exposure of about 15 seconds for the fog. I've watched videos on woodland photography in foggy conditions but I haven't heard that before. That's a big help.

Most of photographers channels I have seen are just about showing their lives doing shots in a location and promoting their sponsors. Of course one can still learn by watching them, but your channel is one which really teaches experience and techniques and maximizes learning. Congratulations to you and your awesome content.

That’s not Dave at all. This guy has left the herd, living outside the hive, and is doing all of what he does for the right reasons.

Another great video Dave. Hey, I know you aren’t in this for the thumbs up, the clicks, and the likes, definitely outside of the hive, but I want you to know you are greatly appreciated by those of us trying to hone our photography skills one shot at a time.

Looked like you had a thin rain cover for your cap. True? If so, what is it? I don't see that in your backpack list.

Nope, just a trash compactor bag inside my pack if it's wet.

Thank you for teaching us why you used aperture priority! I was wondering! I did not know that. Thank you for you for this helpful teaching! It’s so exciting to see you out there! I can’t wait until I can get out there again! Until then I will learn from you!

Shared this video with my camera club (Ohio Valley Camera Club) since it demonstrates the concepts of hyperfocal distance, exposing to the right, and blending silky and detailed water shots vs. just using one or the other. Great job.

Really enjoyed this video. You hit a good balance between technical and aesthetic. What I always liked about shooting on a tripod is that it slows you down and give you time to really consider the photograph. I liked the idea of an extra tent, gear and food at your car so you can extend a wilderness adventure.

Nice video Dave! Do you carry any type of GPS satellite communicator with you or do you just use maps and compass when hiking distances like this. If so, do you have any recommendations as to what, brand names, or where to purchase? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for another great video. Two things. 1). What L bracket is that? In the past, any brackets other than RRS were having some problems with it’s lever action. 2). Do you typically shoot downstream? Thanks so much
@1973Antoniob
@1973Antoniob 2 года назад
The l bracket I think is the 3legged thing. But for me the question is what type of camera strap is? 😃

Is that a Z9 we're seeing? Retire the 810? I'm lugging an 850 around while backpacking, and she's a tank, but I've got too much money tied up in F-mount lenses to switch......... and..... no brain, no pain. Cheers from a fellow PNW'er.

Really a great video. Stunning location. Incredible fog. In your first composition, any reason you didn’t shoot upstream? Water, in my opinion, generally looks better. What did you see using the downstream angle.

Speaking of Focus Stacking: do you (ever) use the INTERNAL focus stacking feature in your Z camera? I hear it does a great job, if for whatever reason one doesn't want to do a stack manually.

It works much better for macro, I’ve found with landscapes I just touch different parts of the screen to focus and fire.
