Context : Memory Loss Au
During a mission Akutagawa gets hurt pretty bad and it cause him medical amnesia, he’s forgotten the last few months of his life, feeling responsible Atsushi volunteers to take care of him. Akutagawa refuses but it falls on deaf ears, still resenting Atsushi he wants nothing to do with him but is now stuck with him as his babysitter (or so he claims)
Extra : In the line “nothing compares to the fever dream” Atsushi refers to the somewhat normal and domestic life they’re living is worth the pain and misery he feels from Akutagawa who doesn’t remember their relationship. (They’re both out of commission and basically simulating what a normal life would’ve been, the rest of the text is self-explanatory I think)
