Features an authentic radio broadcast from 1943 that aired on Christmas Eve as a Christmas special for those home and fighting overseas during World War 2. This Christmas special features a variety of music and guest speakers, along with an address from then President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Imagine what it was like on Christmas Eve in 1943. Sitting in your house next to a crackling fire, the old radio on, and you're nestled warmly under a blanket. This was life in the USA in 1943.

This way, you will not find yourself being wakened by an end roll Ad or an Ad that plays when another video automatically plays. Thank you and, as always, thanks for listening!
📜 Thank you so very much to all who listen and to those who subscribe, I really appreciate the support.

I often listen to WW2 radio wondering if my dad listened to the same broadcast. He was 18 years old headed to Europe to fly for the 8th Air-force. The best generation!

I’ve always found it fascinating that we can listen to the voices of people who are long dead as if they were still walking the earth.

So do I, especially when I'm watching old shows. I can't help but think to myself that these people, once alive are no longer with us. In a way though we're lucky that we get to record the past to share with future generations. It means something of us will go on beyond ourselves thanks to our technology. Thanks for listening!

@@BlackAtomProductions yes... I used to teach a class called "TV TIME MACHINE", where I would play a family sitcom from each of the last 5 decades of the 20th Century, and we'd do an activity like Hula Hoop or Rubik's Cube..., and talk about the changing role of families...

I wouldn't have minded living back then. The world was way less populated and developed. I think I would've enjoyed it. Though there are things about today I'd miss, like computers.

Must have been quite a technical feat in those days to synchronise all those broadcasts from different parts of the world and do all the organisation for it over the radio too.
@BlackAtomProductions

I'm sure it was. I'm always impressed at how quickly the US was able to bounce back after Pearl Harbor and rebuild our units lost so quickly. That took some major coordination and sacrifice of resources all around by the American people to make that happen. I guess that's why they're called the greatest generation. Thanks for listening!
