Color Space and Color Profiles are two completely separate things - DO NOT mix them up. This is a source of a lot of confusion even among professionals. Color Space is an abstract mathematical creation, like euclidean geometry or a coordinate system on a map. A color profile is a property of a file, camera or display (think a country or a continent on the same map). They both are links of the color management chain but they are NOT the same link. Just keep that in mind when you learn ACES and it will all start making sense.
Why wouldn't you give simple explanation of the cct? It would have taken the same time as you flicking your fingers and saying "but", lol. It's simply intermediate color space for color work before rec709 conversion.
Just like the cc color space, it's a flat exposure response, display refered color space with a small toe added to the end of the bottom of the range to avoid negative floating point values from high dynamic rage sources or from other reasons like digital noise in the shadows.. :) As a fick of my finger.
Hey thanks for the video. I installed color IO and put it into the Plug In Folder. When I open the effect in premiere there are unfortunatley no presets like Arri or Log etc. In which folder do I have to put them or how do I activate them? I'd really appreciate an answer :) Pls send help
I would love to buy your ACES Lite pack (without the course). The only thing I worry: I bought into non-standard workflows several times, and as soon as the creators stop updating the input transform LUTs (or methods) the whole workflows was basically obsolete as soon as I bought newer cameras. Therefore, is it possible to create a course or add a tutorial to your existing course, where you explain, how to create our own Input Transformation LUTs for our new cameras, so we can create them and continue to use your method even after you stop updating? I have no idea to do this yet, but I guess it involves matching a new camera/sensor to a high quality color card and then saving the differences into a LUT. Would love to know how to do it.
Hello there, I have an older version of your ACES luts and the footage keeps turning up a little on the blue/purple side when I try to transform it, does the newer version fix that, or am I doing something wrong?

Have you made a video about Adobe Premier's color management. I struggle wrapping my mind around using a gamma compensation lut in the export. It makes me question the validity of the gamma being used when it's done rendering like I look at it like a hack more than a correct gamma delivery. I use a macbook 16 that's spec'd out. I appreciate any feedback
I only have annoying experiences from premieres cms. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. And sometimes, you can't turn it off! I could look into it, better.
@@JooWorks There is no color management in Premiere, period. They introduced some small elements that are required for CMS but the system as a whole is still missing :(

Hi Joonas! great video. I have a question, is it the same to add the ACES LUT in an adjustment layer on top of all the clips and then on top of that one the other adjustment layer with the Rec709... instead of applying the ACES Lut to each individual clip like shown in your video.
I like to do the transform on the clip level and then fix my exposure and WB on the clip level and then the rest on the adjustment level. This way I can match individual clips together, but the look is created so that all clips get the same look.
No conversion make the footage raw again. But when we convert it to ACEScct color space it will behave similar to raw. It doesn't matter how you end up in ACEScct, as long as it, pretty accurate. So every camera has a different input lut/conversion. I don't recomend opencolor.io for premiere, at least untill they start supporting it.
@@JooWorks the reason why i ask is that i wan buy your course but i have my own luts and if i cnt use my own luts then its no use for me. So i pretty much need ur coursre for Acct Lite
@@elid377 if you are refering to creative look luts, you can still use them with aces lite. If you are refering to color management Luts, then it's bit difficult to use two set of color management luts. Using opencolor.io as you color management would as well make you other luts useless... :) Try Aces lite out and if you are not fully happy ask for a refund.
