I'm a baby uni and wow when older unis told me that "they're self produced" I didn't expect it to be this great! Also their youngest being the composer? Amazing!
When we say pentagon are self-producing we mean it. Also all 3 of the youngest have had their songs make the cut for albums, how cool is that? Even Yuto my boy is writing his music in his second language.
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is how the legendary DO or NOT was born! Thank you for allowing us a look, thank you for sharing this song with us! Love you all so much!
Welcome to the family, I'm kinda new, too. btw I'm hella agreeing with you. Our boys are too underrated, the fact that it's because of the company's poor promoting is making me even angrier. GO TO HELL CUBE, WE HATE YOU.
IKR!!!?? I’m an army since 2018 and I’m 2019 self proclaimed universe but this year is I want to focus in pentagon by supporting them too, and I always thinking why they’re this so underrated, I mean we all know that their song ‘shine’ is a bop and all of their songs, THEY NEED TO APPRECIATE TOO🥺🤧 Y’ALL STAN PENTAGON TOO FOR A HAPPY LIFE🤧💙
@@annewinterbear7219 RIGHT!?? They could literally be as big as bts and i dont know whats stopping that. I cant even name one reason why on earth they're not THAT big yet. AND ALSO TO THINK THEY ONLY GOT THEIR FIRST WIN IN 4 YEARS ONLY 5 MONTHS AGO??? THEY DESERVE BETTER I AM FURIOUS
@@nimetg28 exactly 💯 they deserve better!! They can literally be promoted to every country as they have a chinese, japanese and english speaking members!! The literal fact i could not even distinguish whos main vocal/dancer/visual is enough reason
As I watch this Pentory, I feel like a proud mom who’s dropping off her baby in his pre-school. Smiling proudly but melancholically looking the silhoutte of my baby running excitedly towards his classroom with so much courage and conviction, ready to take on the world. I dunno if non-unis would understand, but I’m sure Unis felt the same way. I mean, this feature showed us a great deal about this group of artists - (1) HUI PASSING THE PD BATON TO WOOSEOK - if you watch enough PTG content you will know how Hui has been constantly up on Wooseok’s neck telling him to work on his music. And watching this, you’ll find how Hui has slowly loosen his grip on the reins and passed it on to Wooseok. Hui slowly eases Wooseok in and eventually made him trust his own instincts. Like a father slowly letting go of the bike as his baby pedals away on his own not knowing that he is already doing it on his own. (2) HYUNGS REASSURING WOOSEOK THAT THEY VALUE AND RESPECT WOOSEOK’S CREATIVE INPUT - people watching should know that Wooseok is the youngest member of PTG. Korea is big on age and heirarchy. It’s not common that you’d see the youngest calling the shots and making the hyungs do this or that a certain way in a korean group. Wooseok knows that and at first his inputs are tentative and careful, always seeking Hui’s assurance before pressing that button. But watch how the Hyungs playfully lightens up the mood during recording. How they received Wooseok’s instructions openly. They made sure they make Wooseok feel that he can give out his thoughts and instructions freely to them because they respect him as a producer and no offense will be taken. This respect between them is more than just that of colleagues at work, this is a brotherhood, a family. (3) HUI’S MENTORSHIP - I like seeing how Hui, strict and thorough as he may seem, but takes the opportunity to ask each of the members what they think of it rather than always pushing his opinions on the members. You’d see how members will ask him how was it and he’d simply return it back asking what did you think or how they felt about it while playing it back for them. I swear Hui’s leadership is just one of a kind. I hope he knows this in his heart. Thank you Hui I can’t imagine Pentagon if you were not the leader. (4) WOOSEOK GAINING THE CONFIDENCE TO GIVE OUT THE DIRECTIONS - Towards the end you’ll see Wooseok gets comfortable giving out his directions. It’s a two level glow up. First he learned to trust his instincts and creativity. Second he realized that his hyungs agree and respect his decisions. Knowing this towards the end he asked Hui less and he did things on his own with so much ease. (5) HUI AND WOOSEOK FINISHING RECORDING CONFIDENTLY - While these two took turns managing the recording, you can’t deny how powerful they were when they recorded their respective parts. Like plain and raw their recordings were CD ready. But, ultimately, I loved seeing how Hui felt assured that if he can rely on the youngest member then he probably has nothing to worry about all the other members as well. Their creative process is something to behold. I feel so proud see their minds and creativity at work. These are not just mere idols. Watch them. These guys are not just some manufactured group of people to damce and sing along a concept that fed to them. These are artists making music with so much passion, faith and trust to each other. I’m a certified kpop multi-fan and I can say this is something that you rarely see in kpop groups and this dynamic makes me so proud and happy to be a universe. We may be a small fandom but we all know that these kids we stan are the most precious gift that the kpop gods has bestowed upon us. Thank you Pentagon, Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Shinwon, Yeoone, Yanan, Yuto, Kino and Wooseok. You worked so hard and you’ve done so well.
We will keep saying this over and over about them are creative. They are artists. They create their music that has their Pentagon style. They are versatile and we are always proud of them.
The bond between the members is really strong. I’ve never seen any group with this loving bond. Like yanan said Hui is really humble person. He is very talented and he can just leave pentagon and built a solo career but he just stay with other pentagon members and make sure they go up high together nobodys left behind 🥺
I think not many people realize all the effort and work goes into producing a song completely. I also firmly believe PENTAGON don't get enough credit of how incredibly they work together, but also how passionate they are to perfect everything. They deserve all the appreciation.
What stressed me the most is the fact that Pentagon is so underrated. See how they produced their own songs which was hard for other groups. Pentagon should rise to fame, they are one complete package of a material to be a super kpop star.!
I love that hui let wooseok doing most of making and recording part so he can lead the members in production work later when Hui is still in the military.. we can see wooseok is shy and little bit worried at first but Hui encouraged him to became a confident producer, and wooseok is a quick learner.. both of them did a very good job.. proud of u guys♥️
I love seeing them working hard, it goes to show that they may be tired but they're so passionate and dedicated in what they are doing. Plus, they enjoy it too.
Pentagon's creative juices just never run out. From making the beat, the music, thinking of the theme, the vibe and the whole feel of the song, to writing the lyrics, recording and producing the songs, and making sure it's perfect. That requires so much skills and talent! I can't even write a 3-paragraph essay without crying about it for at least a day. Their dedication and commitment to their craft is so unparalleled. They deserve more recognition on that! My love and respect for these people just grows and grows bigger every time.
I've always curious and wanted to see the behind the scene for their songs recording SO BADDD. I keep wishing that literally EVERY comeback and FINALLY!!!! NOW!! THIS IS THE TYPE OF CONTENT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR SOOO LONG COULDN'T ASKING MORE NOW😭😭😭😭😭
16:56 Here I was appreciating all the members singing their parts and Hui and Wooseok giving instructions, when Mr. Ko Shinwon suddenly decided to stand there like that and demand all my attention...
Ok Yeoone and Shinwon are so freaking adorable I forgot that Wooseok was the maknae for a minute. Shinwon’s little _god bless you_ and _l o v e_ was too cute 🥺🥺
They all look like they just woke up except for Hui.. Either he was awake since a whileeeeeeee agoooo or he didn't sleep at all- and Hongseok looks like he just woke up but already did his abcercise🤣
It's so astonishing to see the process in which the masterpiece that is Do or Not was born! I really admire how well Pentagon work together. I love Hui and Wooseok working together to make the song and directing the recording together. I also really love how during Kino's recording the recording directing moves forward in a collaborative vibe with Hui asking Kino's opinions after listening back to the recording. Pentagon are musical geniuses and this video once again proves that 💖
Yeoone ALWAYS understands the assignment! 🤣🤣 He's great at following direction and honestly the way he was so passionate about getting his parts right reminded me of the overly-determined main character in an anime lol. He really fits the concept.
Find another group (outside cube) who does this. Most other groups, even those that claim to be able to write n produce, actually get others to take charge of title tracks. These guys are another level, so proud to be a universe.
WOAH THEY ARE LITERALLY SELF COMPOSED AND THEY ARE SO TALENTED and i love the way they look like they having fun while working👍 which is such a good working environment❤️🔥
I am absolutely LOSING it at this. wow this is so cute hui's way of coming up with 'do or not'? groundbreaking. wooseok practicing 'rolling stones' over and over? fantastic. yeo one's enthusiasm while recording? incredible. kino singing happily when he finishes and gets to go home? adorable. shinwon definitely being way too excited and chasing wooseok? absolutely precious. LOWERING THE MIC STAND FROM WOOSEOK TO HONGSEOK??? HILAROUS. yanan's warm ups?? the talent!!! (bouncing precious baby i'm dead his YELL to channel the bad boy I'm rolling) don't even get me started on how much I love hui's voice he's literally unstoppable. pentagon is 100% so incredible and all their hard work does NOT get appreciated enough!!!! honestly!!!!! love these boys!!!!!
@@hikari96caroline Truly. I'am always so curious how the boys produce/create music and seeing this, it's a very tedious process. They really want everything to be perfect.
@@melannyratliff9429 im ot8/9? (Idk since i just joined im still finding more abt jinho) I have a tendency to have a soft spot for the foreign line and it happened again but i think if i had a bias it’d be yanan or yeoone or wooseok (right off the bat)
Since this vlog is about the song, I'm manifesting for the next one to be about their choreography huhu learning their choreography for the first time. I think that would be cool 🤗💯
Pretty sure there are other aspects of the production that was not shown here, but I love how very involved they are in various stages of the production. You can also see how professional they are in the way that they relate to each other and the way they critique each other. One of the best releases this year.
It is so nice to see behind-the-recording-scenes. All of them are so talented and hardworking and precious and everything. Thank you Hui and Wooseok (and Nathan) for making this BOP song and to PENTAGON members for making it happen!!!
Actually im an EXO Ls..but a friend introduce them to me last RTK..and seeing a bunch of talented boys in this group..just a little bit u will be reaping all your hardwork..
this was a great video! i really like learning about how the song came about and seeing how much thought and effort went into it, as well as seeing how involved everyone is. yeo one’s enthusiasm and patience while recording and listening to wooseok’s directions was especially wonderful. i can see why shinwon was so excited to see the song debut. thank you pentagon! ❤️
