Test conducted in the 3U Vision testing room in Imola.
Wheat sorting in two passes using the 3U Vision Optica sorter.
The first sorting pass was performed on a 25 kilos sample at a flow rate of 5000 kilos per hour per chutes.
At the end of the first pass, the sorted product was free from any defects or contaminants.
The amount of rejected product was 900 grams, 3.6% of the total.
The rejected product was reintroduced for a second pass at a speed of 250 kilos per hour per chutes.
In this second pass, the Optica sorter identified all types of contaminants with extreme precision, sorting them by color, shape and size to recover as much good product as possible.
The 7.2% of the reintroduced total was rejected, resulting in a final reject of 65 grams.
The result is an extremely concentrated reject to minimize waste.
This process achieved a perfectly clean final product where all contaminants were completely eliminated, resulting in a significant increase in food safety, quality and added value.
