Except most of the slang that they're using is actually United States slang a lot of it is definitely British drill type stuff but mixed up heavily with American rap influence especially the slang a lot of it never goes over my head but I also really enjoy UK rap
Bas floated on this, their sauciest hook yet. "vintage sticks a blast from the past" is a wild line, could be a triple: sticks could mean walking sticks, cigars or guns
2:08 - The agarwood/oud bar was sick. Oud is both the plant/fragrance and the lute-like instrument and both a custom imported instrument from Mozambique and high class fragrance push that cultured sophistication, while having the triple - "oud" comes from the root word for *wood* .
Dex is one of their grandsons they each have a grandson and the 2 of them rap together and they sound like younger versions of them the grandsons help them with their lyrics and produce for them but the main part of their raps are written by them
HandsomeDexter is Bas' grandson and he is Dex from Nine and Dex - Pecan Pie. Another song you should check out. Nine is 91shots, the other producer for Pete and Bas, he is Pete's grandson.
There not actually their grandsons. That's is a work and are unrelated. Nine and dex (jonathan gibson and barnaby addison not sure which is which) own and run sinduworld. They also did Frank and mauri the 2 American old people.
@trwortham they aren't though. Doppelganger and lookalikes have been known about for years. You can find out their actual names easily and they aren't related. Its just a really good coincidence they got lucky.
It's ironic that this swaggy tune was produced by Handsome Dexter, who is the grandson of Bas, who is all swag! 91Shots, who produces most of P&B's music is the grandson of Pete. They together have this year put out three rap songs under the name Nine and Dex, and are obviously involved in the some of the writing on all the tracks. All under the unstoppable label Sindhu World.
7:04 - Bas's bars show at least a decent depth of knowledge on fashion, the finer things in life, and especially music. The whole agarwood verse just kept building and building, adding new woods... and the verse started off with "quick little squirt of the". XD
Sometimes you come across a artist or group that you know is lyrical geniuses but you vibe with the music and lyrics so well you just have to put the lyrics down to follow along and join in the fun you can see the artist or group is having. Pete and Bas are like that. Yeah I love bars and they have plenty of them but you can tell they're enjoying life and themselves and I just say ya know what screw what I catch I'm just going to join in the fun. I feel like y'all decided to do that too.
Soooo glad that you have rediscovered them. I love your reaction channel - and they are brilliant. pete and bas aleays entertain - bars flows. You just stepped into the rabbit hole..... Bish Bash Bosh (Means job done in UK slang), Quick 1-2, Get Low, Mr Worldwide, gangster ish, plugged in with Fumez, Sindhu Sesh - the list goes on.......... Bas has been around music most of his life - worked cruise ships and in one interview dropped a couple of well known bands in the 60s that he worked with. Taught piano - so not an amateur playing at rap - and both said that when they started, they just wanted to get better and better - and they sure have - though they hit the ground running pretty hard. And clearly enjoying touring - which they are doing now. Fire reaction - let us know who was right about earlier reactions!!!! And looking forward to the next one💖
Listen to Pete and Bas "Longthorne Shotgun" proof that they write their own lyrics is shown through the whole video and at the end you will see Bas writing his lyrics. Plus it's a fire video and song they Ride the beat well
Do one is one of their first and it's so dope but golf ft. Norman pain, sindhu sesh, plugged in with fumez, bermondsey, old estate ft. M24, browns, both the window frame cyphers, dents in a pugeot, I can keep going all their shit is dope.
Longthorne Shotgun shows them working on lyrics. I think they do drafts at the very least, and then if they need some words brought up to current times their team helps them out with that sorta thing. I don't think you can deliver like this if you didn't come up with most if not all of it yourself, but that's just an opinion.
Two suggestions You know its Christmas and Sindu Sesh . Mr worldwide is fun but it shows their lyrical flex. The grands help with some word but words like Brougs is strictly a Boomer Gen X word
Yo great vid guys, like it. Just subscribed. Pete and Bas are the guys, they have a past fr too. Check out bish bash bosh by them. Bars for days honestly and a bangin hook
Man what a crazy Rabbit Hole you going to be going down😅 even if they don't write the lyrics which many mainstream rappers don't write their own lyrics people write their s*** but it takes a talented person to take those words put it into motion have Cadence have Flow have Swagger thwy are 🔥the back and forth are absolutely next level so many bars that people miss and it gets me so angry the quick 1-2 track is pretty dope especially Bas final flow the way he starts rapping a lot of rappers can't do and a lot of people miss the rhyme scheme..
@@ChrisLheureux-m8s what’s wild to me is that someone would even care to argue it…how many platinum record artist we got that have ghost writers and literally no one cares because they’re still fire. Pete and Bas out here out rapping some people’s favorite artists and I’m here for it regardless of who wrote it! 🖤
Sorry but they don't write their own lyrics. Check out nines and dex the true pete and bas. Don't get me wrong they still rap it, possibly even better than their grandkids
💥💥 time to burst bubbles. Pete n Bas are not real 🤦🏻♂️ they don't write their own stuff and they don't even rap!! They're a brilliant gimmick, created by Nine and Dex, who are also behind Frank and Maury, the American version of O.G. gangsta rap. Check out anything by Nines and Dex or Frank and Maury and you'll realise the truth. Don't get me wrong! It's still amazing and I'm a huge fan, love live PnB!! 💥🥳😎🔥🔥🔥
@@azraelfaust487 It still happens from time to time but it was honestly taking the fun out of reactions for me. If a breakdown is going to happen, it will happen organically. I don't want to feel like I have to breakdown everything that I listen to because it makes me not be able to enjoy things as much.
They've both lived fairly full lives and at some point been involved in some form of criminal enterprise, though i wouldn't say they're gangster-gangster as Americans think of it (except perhaps Pete cause I heard he dodged a charge?).
