I am lost a bit here.On type IV hypersensitive reaction,you said APC present antigens to CD8+ T cells.How is this possible?Maybe I am making a mistake but your earlier videos say CD8+ T cell is restricted to MHC 1 and CD4+ is restricted to type II MHC .Isn’t it that APC have MHC type II?

Thanks for your question student. Acc to Robbins 10th E, page 199, class 2 MHC are mainly expressed expressed on cells that present ingested antigens and respond to T cell help(APCs mainly Macrophages, B-lymphocyted, and DC) See they have said Mainly(Not Only) Your doubt is justified. See the figure 6.18 in Robbins 10th E page 213, in that diagram APCs are presenting AG's to both CD 4 as well as CD 8 cells. But remember APCs mainly present Ag to CD 4 cells. Here in the diagram APCs presenting AG to CD 8 plus T cells are NOT APCs in the true sense. These are cells which are infected with virus / are Tumour cells. Viral /Tumour AG's present on the surface of the cells which as you know are class 1 MHC are being referred to as APCs, which is being presented to CD 8 plus T cells. Hope this clears your doubt.

@@DrJIBRANAHMED Thanks for your reply, I got the point,the cells depicted as APC’s are in fact any cell with MHC I ie any nucleated cell and platelets not necessarily APC’s in the true sense of the word.
