Saw them live last month. Nothing short of spectacular!! Their new set and additional dancers/singers blew me away. Don't miss them if they come near you. You will not regret it!
Hey guys ! I was at that show, and yes you're right, they're amazing live. There is also the smell of sage which they burn which adds to the atmosphere. Also the fans or as Heilung refer to them " brothers and sisters " add to the whole experience. There is truly nothing like it, and I don't say that lightly. The full dvd of this show is being released next year. Ps love your show ❤
The spectacular original video is the one, it brings the story to life. To see the story unfold in amazing places is much more effective than the best stage performance.
Love your reaction to this, my only wish is that you had done the music video version of this instead. It provides context to the song and takes you on an adventure.
I'll second the music video for op. The bass just goes through every part of the body. With a good pair of headphones, you can hear the ritual as if it's all around you. The setting, the sounds, and that epic headbutt competition at the end. Very powerful.
Glad to see you back on Heilung again guys! They are so, so good! If you havent seen it yet I can highly recommend the live "Lifa" version of "Fylgija Futhorck". Its from the same live set as the "Krigsgaldr" video you reacted to recently. It still blows my mind now after watching that "Lifa" set for six years since I first saw it in 2017.
The stringed instrument Maria is playing is a re-production of one of the first stringed instruments. When the original creator was going to play it, I assume infront of an audience, he got some of his daughters hair and used it to string the bow .
As probably mentioned, "Lifa Llyn Dain" is Welsh for 'London Live' and is pronounced "Lyva LLindayn" (The 2 LL's is the aspirated Welsh sound like in Llewellyn or Llandudno.)
