St Anne in San Diego (where we met) was open and Priest did not wear masks and didn’t care if people wore masks. The Church was open every day CONFESSION EVERYDAY BEOFRE EACH MASS. Amazing!

Cardinal McElroy had forbidden any traditional priest ordained after the Motu Proprio was written to have any permanent position in the diocese of San Diego. He is barely supporting the fraternity probably only for the money that it provides to the diocese, especially now that the diocese has declared bankruptcy.

Same for the SSPX Chapel - St. John Bosco Mission in San Diego. Fr. Burfitt filed suit against Newsom for the discriminatory restrictions on churches in California and won! Now the state is prohibited from ever imposing those restrictions on churches statewide! Thank God for good and courageous priests like Fr. Burfitt!

From 6 years old, due to the fact my Catholic father did not practice his faith, and my mother had no faith, my Catholic grandmother paid for my Catholic education, and I told my mother I was supposed to go to church on Sunday - So from 6 old, I attended every Sunday Mass on my own. I paid close attention to every detail, and listened intently to every gospel and homily. By the time I made my First Communion, at 7yrs. old, I understood the entire Mass, and followed along in my First Communion book, which had Latin on one side, and English on the other. If I as a 7yr. old could understand the Tridentine Latin Mass - come on now.

I would like to think that but here in Australia we have now just a couple of churches left in the country that offer Latin mass. I just found it again in the last 3 years, we are already hanging by a thread on the removal of TLM, our rector has been removed at Christmas 2023 now this possibly happening next month. The Latin mass must survive but from a selfish point of all us older Catholics, im 69 this year, will there be a priest to say my last rites, absolve me of my sins before i die? Will i see the return of TLM before i die? I just spent 30 years with NO being the only mass, my children have never seen TLM. I pray that Francis will leave well enough alone with TLM & the sacraments. I can in the meantime panic, I cant afford to move again. This pope could send us all to hell & he doesn’t care.

I’ve been a member of the SSPX in Manitoba, Canada for almost 40 years, I saw things in the local archdiocese cringing. I said enough is enough I’m looking for another parish sure enough postage size advertisement was in the newspaper. The next Sunday I was on the bus and I’ve never left. The parish has since moved to another part of the city and I’m even closer 10 minutes away. That’s my car and that’s when my car decides on running ,but besides that ups and downs as in any normal parish. So if anybody is passing through, lock us up summers here. All you have to do is observe the rules and regulations and you have no problem. Thank you Dr. Taylor Marshall and to you and your family God bless. And I will pray definitely for archbishop Vigano. I really like the man but yes if he’s disposing Sedevacantis ideas it’s too bad, but it doesn’t mean I won’t pray for him.

I just want you to know that seeing you appear on TimcastIRL was a deciding factor in pushing me to return to the Catholic church... I have been attending 2-3x a month for the last year or so, but not participating in sacraments because my heart wasn't in it yet.. I went to confession last Saturday & received communion on Sunday for the first time in 21 years! I feel good, like I finally got some spiritual sustenance that I didn't know I was missing! I explained the TLM to my daughter somewhat in this way...The TLM, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, is not unlike an electric outlet in the wall of your home. This electrical outlet provides powerful energy that, when plugged in to, energizes your life in a thousand ways, but only if you plug into the socket. The Holy Mass is the sole source of spiritual, supernatural energy the drives forth all aspects of our Catholic Faith. Unlimited power is there but only if you can "plug into it." This Mass gives life, and energy to all the other Sacraments. It gives reason to Catholic education, Family life, religious callings and is the way to our salvation. It is the unlimited source of our Catholic power. The evil modernists, many sporting white collars, all know this. If they can kill the true power source, they think they win. I say this to them all. Fare warning, never play with electricity or with the Mass of the Ages. You are sticking your fingers into the main source of power to the true Church of Jesus Christ. I’m so grateful to live in SC , our Bishop “seemed” to for-see this document coming last year and acted accordingly allowing 4 churches throughout our state to celebrate the TLM. I wasn’t even alive when Vatican II happened. It was the clarity of the church teaching that intellectually drew me to believe in the Church. I was raised in a very atheistic & secular household and had absolutely no formation whatsoever. It was my obsession with Art History and Architectural History that inspired me to pursue a deep spiritual and philosophical understanding of what the Church taught . Even if the Bishop has already “complied” and limited the TLM to 4 churches across the entire state, would this restrict it even further?

Thanks to covid I found my FSSP parish! Mass wasn't celebrated publicly but they were the only ones who opened doors for adoration. When public mass slowly started to become available, they made it very accessible for us to attend mass.

I went to a Byzantine Catholic liturgy and loved it. I recommend checking it out for anyone wanting to experience something more traditional. It's not the Latin mass of course but still a great liturgy!

My parish, St John Cantius in Chicago, stayed open during COVID. They limited attendance at first. But the confessional were still open during every service. Sacraments still offered. TLM offered all day. They started livestreaming and you are correct. There were hundreds of new parishioners once the lockdown nonsense ended. I hope this news isn't true. I can't go back to NO. I will have to find and Eastern rite church instead.

What will happen with the Oratories in England? Are they likely exempt from this likely ban? They presently do both forms but they are extremely conservative and prefer the TLM as do many of their parishioners. They would be completely let down. They are the most active, conservative, and traditional set of Catholic Churches in England.

Why, why, why.....? Growing up in England we had Latin Mass. The Mass book was in Latin with English in small print below. Over time you took on the Latin, you knew the meaning. I moved to Brittany in 2003. I attended Mass for Remembrance Day, 11th November. The Mass was in French. The elderly people around me were lost and gathered around me to help them follow the order....so used were they to the Latin Mass !

As a Baptist minister with respect for the catholic and orthodox churches, I can not understand why Pope Francis would want to ban a mass that has been celebrated for over a thousand years. The Latin mass is something to be proud of not something to discard. This makes no sense. But this is what happens when you hand the authority to one man who can make a doctrine that he is infallible.

About the Holy Mass being celebrated in the vernacular language, I'd like your take on the following: I was raised in the U.S.A. and at the age of thirteen ,1978, returned to Puerto Rico (the "little island surrounded by a big blue ocean" or a colony of the U.S.A). I noticed that during the celebration of the Holy Mass people would pray the rosary. Why was this? Since the people didn't understand Latin (although they learned the prayers in Latin) and were illiterate in their own language (Spanish), they couldn't follow the celebration, so they resorted to praying the rosary. Vatican II opened their understanding of the Holy Mass and allowed them a more active participation. Don't you think that by allowing the Latin Mass (in terms of the language), some people will make a classist distinction between the elite and the rest?

I don't understand what the points of banning TLM are. Why doesn't the Vatican just give a freedom to every church to choose what kind of mass they want to perform. It's only a ceremony. What the churches choose don't affect the Vatican.

The best educational decision we made for our children was recommend they take Latin in HS. Daughter took 3 years of Latin and son took 2 years but the teacher they had most importantly was an excellent educator (probably the BEST teacher in our school system which is small and rural. It was a sad day when he retired (after our son’s 2nd year of Latin). To this day, they have not been able to replace him. What a loss. Both our children who are 40 and 35 still admit to benefits of taking Latin. Regarding the TLM, my husband and I had just begun to really get into the TLM such as saying the Hail Mary, etc. Of course, I really learned the Hail Mary in Latin from you in your podcasts long before going to the TLM. I don’t understand why Pope Francis is banning the TLM when this is something that actually brings the Roman Catholic Church community together worldwide in one language. ??? CAN YOU EXPLAIN THIS TO ME??? Or, maybe better said, what is your opinion on this matter??? Very confusing!

When we went to different countries, and Mass was said in Latin then. So every country, we could go to Mass and feel included. So sad that some wonderful rites are disposed of and some not as important, are hung on to. Just don't know what to think.

Re. music in NO. I remember a mostly Italian community in Australia with a temp parish priest from the Vatican for a few years. He had a music degree from the Vatican in Gregorian chant, no less, but continued to hire the regular weekly Philippine mobile music choir every week with tambourines, guitars, electric keyboards, dancing women, and very hip songs instead of teaching the choir how to chant. Just mind-boggling. An older woman from Europe who attended the daily NO masses used to bring a small cluster of bells and ring them at the appropriate time in the Mass, much to the priest's annoyance and disapproval. However, your "sing with a tambourine" rendition, DTM, does remind me of King David and how he joyously jumped up and danced around with his harp singing, which is where the Psalms came from. He also prophetically predicted "I will sing with the Gentiles" who are actually the Romans and now us. Because the Psalms are the basis of the Traditional Mass.

Remember Traditional Catholics never ever (give or take) left the church; if this goes through remember the Church left us. In Ireland during the penal times mass was said by rocks and places hidden away from the authorities of the time. Maybe this will happen again. Maybe have 'house masses' that used to take place in rural Ireland; maybe this still happens. Am I right is saying that the traditional societies are turning away young men due to them being full up?

I disagree, a lot of Latin masses did not live stream during COViD. The churches closed and refused people sacraments during that time and wonders why no one came back. People ended up seeking the church and the churches were all closed up. The problem I have with the TLM people is that they are very judgmental and unfriendly, they look down on others who aren’t like them

We did the same- we thought we’d just “go check out” the Latin Mass. That was Easter 2019 and we never went back to our Novus Ordo church again!! Even though the TLM is an hour away, and our NO parish only 6 minutes. :)

I won’t give the NO a cent. I will send my money to traditional institutions and help support their growth. It’s the only way.

Don’t count on it. TLM is a minority, not a majority. Pope Francis has already planted the seeds by placing like minded men to the college of cardinals and they answer to no human entity. Sure money can influence the leadership but unless everyone is all in, it’s not going to matter and they will still have their way. Pope Francis will do what he wants as long as he is the Pope. The hope his successor will UNDO EVERY SINGLE CHANGE that he made.

Good point. My parish has both TLM and NO Masses, but pretty sure the TLM is the majority of parishioners. Therefore, majority of donations.
