SELENA'S voice color sounds like a combination of Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo, and Lisa. 😍 Selena's voice PERFECTLY *COMPLEMENTS* and *BALANCES* Blackpink's voices.
I feel like that’s what makes the collaboration more genuine. Like Selena actually tried to be apart of the collaboration, she wasn’t just “hopping onto the BP fanwagon”. She had parts throughout the MV. Plus she co wrote the song as well, so it seemed like she cared about this song. And BP and Gomez both admitted that they were genuine fans of each other.
This song has definitely been in the works for awhile. Remember when Blackpink met Ariana Grande last year? Well this song was mostly written and produced by Ariana's team (Tommy Brown, Victoria Monet, and Ariana Grande) that created 7 Rings and Thank U, Next. This is the second song Ariana Grande has co-written for another artist ( the first was Normani's Motivation). Blackpink is about to have huge success on the Billboard charts! I've already heard this song being promoted on an ad for Selena Gomez's show on HBO...this song is about to be promoted everywhere! Blackpink teamed up with 2 of the biggest names in pop music so you know this song is about to be EVERYWHERE! In a way we got a 2-for-1...a SelPink collab and an AriPink collab!
I’m so glad someone else noticed that they weren’t shot together, like the editing is amazing but there was something that wasn’t quite right and that was definitely it.
I feel with the Korean reactions, a lot of the charisma of the song is lost in translation because the lyrics to the song is super raunchy and there are lots of allusions to sex. I don’t think it translates that well to the Korean audience. Personally, I found the song to be pretty fun and just the right amount of scandalous which makes for a good song. I’ve been having it stuck in my head all day. When Lisa said “play the part, like Moses”, I almost lost my shit. 😂
Rawan Faraj it’s a double entendre (a double meaning) the direct meaning would be a biblical reference telling a story about how Moses part the sea and “create the path” for other to cross, meaning that BLACKPINK is making a path for other artists to follow. The other meaning is that she’s telling the guy she likes to play the part of being her boyfriend or play the part of being her fan. It’s truly a genius line if you ask me tbh
US market is their target with this song so yeah if koreans liked it, it's a bonus. And with these lyrics i think BLACKPINK is not a kid anymore for these kind of lyrics haha i saw a lot of people complain about it lol. I liked the naughty lyrics tho😂
True it's really American pop music 💃💃😇 yes very difficult to shoot in 2 different countries .. it's really appreciated ..this song looks like 2 types of feeling comes in our mind kpop and American pop .. it's really hard thing to making this feeling amazing girls 💃💃Selena and blinks 💃💃💃😊😊😊am from USA 🇺🇸🙋♀️
I believe Ariana Grande and some of the writer/producer friends co wrote the song along with Selena and the YG team (like Teddy). There are like 8 different writers but most are from the West.
I think the reason Selena may look exotic in this video to Korean watchers is because in many of her scenes she is dressed in what is called "Americana" retro aesthetic style. Its like a retro American theme, she wears the classic pin-up girl style, quite different to what Blackpink is wearing. Even the retro yellow car Selena sits in is that same retro Americana theme
i thought same until i saw jennie at coachella, discovered 4 minute and hyuna as she is active , dont like soyeon's style but she definately one of best rapper, clc rapper, mamamoo rapper. there might be tons, so you cant throw you own delusional opinion anywhere without even listening others. they saying top 5 is actually good for lisa. Dont @ me now saying hater or jealous like every losers do as i am crazy lisa fan who made my gf hate her by only watching and talking about her and having lisa's pictures all over my phone.
I know there are better rappers but not for me and i have listened to all of your rappers but her voice suits the most. I love cl and lisa rapping then soyeon and then jennie

안녕하세요~ I appreciate that you guys are quick to react to the songs as soon as they come out. It shows that you are connected to the music scene. And wow Jisoo is my bias too.
As an American, I love to see modest/subtle sexuality from normal looking (thin) girls being successful! Lately, I think the exaggerated curves and obscene dances and lyrics are not liberating, but boring and desperate (I’m looking at you WAP). Lol.
Umm...not all of us are "normal" looking or thin. Why can't representation in all forms be celebrated? Is it necessary to compliment someone by slighting someone else?
Diamond yes it is necessary because these days thinner girls are trashed for not having a big fat ass. There are countless reactions to people making fun of Kpop girls dancing. So yeah. Imma say it. Score 1 for the skinny chicks with this MV. Wooohoo!
I liked WAP though. Can’t fault other girls for wanting to fault their sexuality in ways that they want. I do agree there is a lot of skinny shaming in our American culture, especially in Hip Hop... but... let’s be real, Selena and BP are far from what I would say as the “normal” body type. Lol. I think your use of that word will rub a lot of people the wrong way.
