I'm referring to the lack of focus on the Qur'an! Whichever "bayan" I have been to, in Pakistan, whether Friday sermons, or after Namaz short bayans, OR hours long dedicated lectures, each had 95% stories, 4% hadiths, and 1% Qur'an in it. Whereas, Allah (swt) gave us the Qur'an for guidance, and made it Easy to Understand !

My cousin worked in Liaqat National Hospital, Karachi. He once saw a 55 year old male patient, who had taken some loan from some elite guy in his village in Sindh. He couldn't return it within the due time. That 55 years old guy was raped by 3 men from his village upon the orders of that "Elite" guy. You can now imagine the shallowness of psychology that people posses in that region. I can not elaborate this psychology in a comment but contains a lot of weight....
