Is there a reason you follow up crouching medium punch drive rush into another crouching medium punch instead of a standing medium punch? I see Pro Guiles do that too, but it never makes sense to me because drive rush standing medium punch does more damage than crouching medium punch and as far as I can tell has all the same follow ups. Am I missing something?
It can be of multiple reasons. The distance from where the CR.mp into DR is made from can be hard to connect into a ST.MP, while CR.MP will let you slide into the extend, with start of charge, or confirm to a ST.MP-HP target combo or different route. I think its a easier confirm for the most part at least if you ask me.
@@GuilesGarden ok I’ll have to experiment with the distances. I have never had a problem confirming DR st.MP into st.MP->HP for the timing alone but maybe the distance does make a difference. I see guiles like knuckledu and Akainu use the DR cr.MP also so they must know better than I do
@@mattszwejkowski4926 it can also be a muscle memory, or whiff punishing with CR.mp from a further distance. Im not sure if it builds more super meter this way either or that the OD gauge will start replenish earlier this route from when the combo is done
hi Chat , can anyone help with this? I use Guile for my character I don’t understand why my low heavy kick to head kick , always make my opponent go across the screen and I cannot set up a OG somersault what am I doing wrong? But I know I have been doing that combination since streetfighter four not sure why it’s not connecting on this one help anyone

In the video it didn’t go from low heavy to the head kick. It’s an easy combo. I’ve been doing it forever on streetfighter four what’s the reason that the opponent flies across the room?
@@TheMagnolia09 the reason is to have an option to create space once again to start zooning and throw sonic booms, get space back and to be able to walk forward to get a better position. a "get away of from me"-move basically. only works on punish hit counter as a true combo.
