I've done a few blankets on my shop & this is exactly what I needed! I could'nt figure out the dimensions to get what I was trying to achieve eventhough I was using the pattern feature in Printify. I do have a question...I am one of your members and have looked in the resource vault for the blanket color chart and fonts and don't see it on there. Thank you Mandy!!

Hi Mandy, thank you so much for the video. You just saved me so much time! I also had a question about file sizes, typically I save my designs as an SVG but I was wondering if I end up having no choice other than to upload the design as a png (because of the images used), if it shows high resolution on Printify would the quality be the same? I saw in your first blanket tutorial you mentioned making sure to get the image back into high resolution if it says "medium resolution".

I've used your referral links for everything related to Etsy. Unfortunately I'll have to cancel every subscription! Shop was suspended then it was lifted saying there had been a mistake. Then it was closed down again! And much to my surprise the appeal failed! It only had one dummy (not copyrighted) listing on the shop. All banking details matched! Pretty shocked by how poor Etsy is as a platform in dealing with these suspensions.

Keep appealing! Most sellers can get their shop back if they keep sending appeals and contacting their support. They use a lot of automation with these, but sooner or later you can get through. Keep at it!

Hey Mandy, 1) How do you add the different comfort colors into one Etsy listing from Printify, seeing that they only offer one custom color per listing in Printify, unlike the shirts? 2) Where do you find the hex codes for the comfort colors?

This is just what I was looking for. Many thanks! Do customers ever complain that the graphics or text are partially cut off around the edges? I was fooling around with custom-name blanket designs and trying not to cut off any of the design around the edges which was pretty impossible but I thought this was something a customer might complain about. Wonderful tutorial. I have been working on blankets more and making them personalized. Some of my first sales after 4 months open have been those blankets. The one issue I have is doing full size blankets. I know how to do patterns but when doing a full design it was getting parts cut off when dragging it to fill in the Printify area. I tried what you suggested on dividing by 6 and saving as SVG. I actually used the dimensions you posted in your video for a test trial. When loading the SVG to Printify it says the file is too large. Has to be 20MB. I keep down sizing to where I'm in the 1000 ish px range and it's all guess work then. Using your suggestion why is my file so large? Too many elements? I'm still new and guessing. My file is 131 MB . I actually made one blanket and had to break it down to 2 files and then load both on Printify. Basically a file for the top half of the blanket and a file for the bottom. It works but is extra work. Any help appreciated.

Usually it has to do with the elements. Some graphics are very large (I’ve even had individual graphics from Creative Fabrica that won’t even upload into Canva because they’re so big). It sometimes just comes down to trial and error in those cases. The good news is that you can git pretty small with svgs and still have them work well for large products 😊

Hi! How do simple font products comply with the Etsy handmade policy? Is it because you create the font in Canva? Im struggling with starting a POD after many years of handmade bc ive heard these shops w just a simple font placement (no graphics)are frequently taken down for not being handmade. I just love your channel! I have noticed several content creators pushing mydesigns but I believe they are all getting paid to push it. For someone that is new at doing POD sees how it looks good but I believe there is downside like you use there POD partners. IDK ... do you have any input? I trust your judgement!

Fabulous! Thank you! Quick question. When I hit the download button in the bottom corner, it only gives me the blank template. Is that what you meant that it would provide? You’ll need to be in the actual mockup preview screen first in Printify (not the design screen). Choose the mockup you want to download and then click on the download button 😊

There is also an app called Anywhere POD that you can connect to your Printify and design the items and set it up to customize in the app and it will customize the products automatically.

They’re from Creative Fabrica. Dreamer is Last Dream and University was called Collegiate Block 😊

Do you have trouble uploading svg to printify??? My files are always too big. I have to use 10% of the target size to make it work. If I want 4500 x 4500 I have to make the svg 45x45 or they are too big to upload to printify. I have to make them super tiny

You do need to start with a smaller size. Depending on the images within your design I can usually get away with around 2000px 😊

I do not see the the Velveteen Minky in Printify. I only see the Velveteen Plush or Velveteen Microfiber. Which is closest to the Minky? Thanks

I don't understand why the SKU's are removed under 'Variations'. I as a non-English speaker or newbie would have sooo thought: yes, I sell these different sizes, and so can let this be. Do you mean this is the only indirect trick to use to be able to not let them go into production automatically? And that there isn't a question somewhere where you can say to not produce immediately? And if the item is customizable, why doesn't Printify understand that? Or does it seem more difficult than it is and I would have seen to remove that too?

If you use the SKU number given. The customer will be given the item displayed in the thumbnail WITHOUT their personalization. You can edit in Printify for all orders to be manual and it will not automatically send. Printify does not personalize for you, so yes you have to create a personalized order each time with that customers requests. That's how you let Printify know which item to send. I hope this helps you.

Using place it violates Etsy rules because it’s almost all generic stuff that isn’t the exact thing you’re selling. Even the apparel. Plus they use so much photo filtering effects that you will never in a million years get anything close to accurate color. It does not look like what the customer receives. At least not when I tried it for T-shirts. Had to get a refund.

This is why I don’t recommend it for apparel specifically - brand, fit and color are much more of an issue for those. Other items are better though and my tests with samples are good matches for things like totes, mugs, and blankets. Printify and PlaceIt jointly announced at a recent event that they have been specifically working together on exact products as well, so we’ll continue to see improvements.

All great ideas...but how do you get seen and rank high enough to get sales...especially when everyone is doing the same or similiar? It seems, those who've been in the game the longest have the best advantage, then I see others who have just entered a couple months ago and they're killing it. How?!

There are a variety of factors (Etsy’s ranking system itself has many factors including shop age and listing quality scores), but a lot of it is related to trends, customer demand, and how well those shops can create products to leverage that demand 🤓
