Some of these gospel singers don't protect their voices. Dorinda is too old to convert to AME- or Catholic-style teaching, but it would do her well to try. That voice is her livelihood; the longer it lasts, the longer she'll be able to make a living. She needs to rest that voice for about 3 months, then bring it back with some regular, daily warm ups and training. Even the best singers need to keep a voice coach on staff to help them perform at their best. All of my favorite singers have declined in vocal ability. Twinkie, VBA, DCS. You expect some decline with age, but a lot of the decline I'm talking about is due to too much yelling and hollering.
