I've seen this like five times and it never gets old. I used to ride at close to this level but didn't like to race. I just did it for the exercise and tried not to get hurt. It's a commitment to get to this level. You have to train six days a week and always eat well as well as cross train by running single tract trails to be at this level.

Une course magnifique que tu as réalisé. L'attaque sur le haut après le glacier pour revenir sur Hugo c'était totalement dingue comme tu as soudé. Toute la partie pédalage jusqu'à l'attaque de Hugo dans le coup de cul et tu le passes avant de basculer direction alemont de toute beauté. Tu mets tout dans la DH pour prendre l'avance et malheureusement tu crèves au pire moment... Une des toutes meilleures méga que j'ai pu voir en vidéo. Gros GG pour l'engagement.🤘👍
The way how smooth and fast Damien rides is just unmatched on this course. There are many great riders like Killian, Peter, Hugo but only mechanical issues are Damiens real enemies.
Absolute respect, without a doubt, for the most commitment, most dedication, and great skill - not to mention a stunning display of fitness. Completely gutted for you though, regardless of the outcome, you were the winner, clearly. Great race!

Man, would've won both the e-bike and standard Megavalanche if not for equipment failure! Amazing race, really enjoyed it. What could make it even better is a camera angle that captured the handlebars. 🤘
I'm surprised there are any axles, hubs or rims that could survive this rock, sand, mud and boulder fest. Some guys just have a lot more talent and stamina then the rest of us. Killer riding!

2ieme à 20 secondes après une crevaison, chapeau bas. Quand on voit ton classement ces dernières années, ce ne sont que des premières ou deuxièmes places. C’est la folie la plus totale. Bravo et merci pour ces images grandioses : impossible de décoller les yeux de l’écran, fascinant.

09:49 je connais bien le sentier de la sentier de la cristallière c'est mon single préféré de tout temps, franchement incroyable cette action me rappelle mes meilleurs moments sur cette course, un peu plus à l'arrière, mais finalement on se sent moins con d'avoir tenter des trucs à la con pour une 50eme place quant devant ils sont encore plus fou 😂

@@peet4921 Last year For Kilian Bron i think it was a mechanical failure (rear deraileur failure or rear puncture) not sure because it happen fast and in footage he not say what it was but it was enough forcing him to get slower in the last section in the woods then he got overpassed by Stefan Peter, just like here in Damien case on the last section of woods something fail or broke or a rear flat tire he was forced to run slower and got overpassed as we see right on last section of the race.. what a bad luck but at least Damien Oton secured 2nd spot.. (Kilian was not this lucky he finished way latter behind).. this year Kilian got on 6th because he got blocked on top snow section and he struggle to fight back from 9 to reach and fight hard with Stefan Peter who finish on 5 as we know first rows at the start are all Elite PRO Riders.. is a rough & tough race Kamikaze Megavalanche even to watch..!!! 💢💯🚴♀🚴♂🚴🚵🚵♂🚵♀

Those mountains must be huge, you hurtled down that mountain for what seemed forever, and whenever we got a shot of the mountains in the distance for perspective, you still seemed to be at the top😆
Such an anti-climax to the trail. Just meandered into a small field in a back street. I thought it would shoot out full speed into a plaza. Insane skill and confidence. Still trying to figure out how you go so fast through the switchbacks.

@@HenriBourjade c'est la section du début parmi la rocaille et les pierre pointues après la neige ou ça crève le plus normalement il a pas eu de bol et un léger manque de lucidité aussi

La crevaison à part, qui dégoute bien et fait partie aussi de la course, c'est vraiment un magnifique run. Pas de regrets à avoir tu as vraiment tout donné, y'a rien a redire. Vainqueur moral pour moi ;)
Je connais rien au vélo mais c'est juste incroyable ! Quel engagement ! Pas de doute tu étais le plus rapide mec, vraiment pas de bol pour cette crevaison au mauvais moment (même si y'en a surement pas pas de bon à vrai dire 😁) et après tant d'efforts.
Don't know how you got into my recommandations but insane biking skills, espacially on those rocky parts where you can barely see a path or what's around the next corner/bump👏
