I enjoy your product reviews, but so many of them contain niacinamide. I have a sensitivity to that ingredient - I get a contact dermatitis whenever I use it. Would love some niacinamide-free options!
I've been using it every other night on my copper peptide nights, and I've seen a major difference. And that's on a every other night basis. That's pretty impressive. I've had multiple people notice a difference in my skin. It's totally worth it.
About that Retinyl Retinoate that you mentioned the brands Verso and Medik8 use. It is also used by a kbeauty brand called Enprani (I'm not sure but I think they were the first to introduce it). You can find it in their Retino x8 line and I think it's usually cheaper than those western brandes mentioned
One of the coolest things about Verso retinol 8 products, is they are safe to be worn during the day, They are from Sweden.and have been around for a long time. Check them out.

iYay for more kbeauty! There are sooo many products right now that I obsessed with in that sphere- and Jin Jung Sung is an amazing product! I think you'd also love haruharu wonder's black rice egf ampoule! Its a lovely gel serum texture with growth factors derived from rice! I've also been obsessed with Torriden's Balanceful toner pad for gentle yet effective exfoliation! skin1004's probio cica line is AMAZING (fermented centella asiatica!) and Innisfree's Black Tea Essence (fermented black tea + peptides!)
That first essence is very similar to one of my favorites- 9 Wishes Ampul Toner. Fragrance free & boy, does that moisturize. I like that whole line. Would be great for Winter. I’m 60. As far as Turmeric in skincare, Dr Dray has said it’s great for an Anti Inflammatory when EATEN. But there are NO hard studies to validate efficacy when applied to the skin. She also said if you use micellar water, you should still rinse with water, because it will still leave a film on your skin. My go to cleanser for the last 25 years is Purity Made Simple Cleanser by Philosophy. It’s a gentle gel cleanser, you only need about a dime size of to foam up in your hands. This will remove waterproof mascara and makeup. No need to buy a separate remover. Other Influencers have said it helped with their acne. It cleans the pores well. I use it sometimes with my Clarisonic Brush. I also refer you to the videos by QVC for Info & demos. Ulta & Sephora have the smaller bottles at the front of the store for people who want to try it.😉
Great video as usual! I love and have used Soon Jung products for a long time now. My fav is the 2x Barrier Intensive Cream. I ski in the winter and Motorcycles in the summer. All very drying activities. With this I feel moisturized all day.
Would love to hear your thoughts on a new to me skincare line called May Lindstrom. I recently tried a pricey product from them called Blue Cocoon, and I love it. I use at night. Added benefit, their customer service is absolutely fantastic, as I had an issue which was the shippers fault but they owned and corrected it. Also for an affordable option, I will seal in moisture with Aquaphor Oinment Body Spray.

I love the RNW Der Ceramide Serum!!!! I just received the Jin Jung Sung essence and I am loving the texture and feel so far! Other brands I have enjoyed so far (purchased on both ohlolly and soko glam) dr. Althea, Blithe, and Hyeja. I want to try a Japanese brand called Edobio too. 😊
Penny Have you tried the newly formulated version (late 2022) of the Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream? I didn't care for the old version but the new version is fantastic. My God it is the most barrier restorative cream I've ever tried in my entire life. I have both eczema and rosacea and my skin has been completely restored. Redness dramatically reduced and my skin doesn't hurt anymore. I didn't even realize my skin hurt all the time until after I used this cream for a few days. The only downside to this cream is it isn't quite moisturizing enough for me, but that's not a deal breaker. I top drier areas with the Avene Cicalfate, like my cheeks. Those two creams pair really well together.

Great video as usual! I think you would enjoy the K beauty product SCINIC Super Moist Essence Water. It contains the ingredient phytospingosine that you talked about in your last video.
For k-beauty, there are some brands that are doing "snail mucin" alternatives like Vegreen. Mixsoon has a bean essence that's also supposed to be a replacement for snail mucin as well. As far as the retinoate, I've seen a version of that talked about by Dr Idriss regarding Caroline Hiron's Skin Rocks products. I've also seen a review of the Verso product by Dr Sam Ellis in her expensive skincare that might be worth it video. I can't remember if you've tried any RMS Beauty like their sunscreen? Good idea about the e.l.f. moisturizer as a mask because most derm reviews of that line weren't great.
The illuminating balm is fantastic! I use it in combination with their anti redness moisturizer (on my face) when I don’t have time to put on make up, but still want something on my skin to look a bit more put together. Holy grails!

Love Kbeauty and Jbeauty. Ginseng is a great ingredient that has been used in eastern cultures that produce collagen for a long time. Beauty of Joseon, Sulwhasoo and Numbuzin are brands that come to mind. Sulwhasoo is pricey but Yesstyle has affordable minis. I have a ginseng routine once a week when I take a night off from tretinoin. My skin loves it (plump and hydrated). Love your channel. Cheers🎉!

I love the Laneige lip balm, recently repurchased it with the overnight lip mask during Prime days. I didn't realize until my second purchase that the little piece in the cap is an applicator! Not really necessary, but I thought it was clever packaging.

The Milani Weekend Brow is the best I have ever found for my sparse eyebrows. Better than any drugstore or high end options. After using it for a while I bought another two or three and intend to buy extras for back up.

I have the moisturizer from the brand too it's really nice I even use it on my body chest belly area cause the peptides and good ingredients and it's not expensive at all so I don't feel bad using it on my body. I got a rec for you the 107 vitamin C serum check out the ingredients list it's so different and pretty interesting, its kinda pricey at 75$ but prime day it was 42$ and it's unlike any vita c serum I seen .
Just a FYI be careful with turmeric…I’m allergic to it and I swell up very badly and get migraines from it. Just because it’s from the ground doesn’t mean you can’t be allergic to it! I learned the hard way. It’s to bad because it’s now in EVERYTHING!!!
Interesting, my mom just gave me some supplements that are turmeric and magnesium. I'll be careful when I do try them.. Or maybe I won't. I had an awful reaction to the nac supplement last year so I'm very weary about taking anything now.. And I'd never have thought of turmeric being one to watch. Thanks for saying so. 👍😊

After what happened from taking NAC, it damaged my kidneys and my feet swelled up after a couple of days taking it, my feet returned to normal but have lots of tiny veins everywhere. I'd even asked my doctor first if they were safe to take. So I appreciate you letting us know about the turmeric, you just never know. 😊

I am such a fan of J and K beauty, and order fairly regularly from Stylevana. I especially love their mineral sunscreens to wear on days when I don't want a tinted product--BEAUTY OF JOSEON - Relief Sun : Rice + Probiotic SPF50+ PA++++ is my current favorite, and Benton has a product that has a green tint (that disappears) to counter redness that I also really love (also 50+ PA++++). But I want to highlight two essences that seemed to help save my skin recently when I went through a terrible rash/hive situation. These two things combined were based upon a recommendation made by Alice in the Rabbit Hole (I believe) on how to soothe irritated or inflamed skin, which was use a gentle exfoliant and then hydrate and balance with ceramides. I just happened to have these two essences in my stash, so opened and used them: Isntree's Chestnut AHA 8% clear essence, and Holika Holika's Good Cera Super Ceramide Toner (milky and more like an essence, IMO). They are both nicely formulated and cosmetically elegant and really soothed my skin. I was VERY surprised I liked the Good Cera as much as I did. I got it in a Beauty Box and it has a lot of fruit oils, but it has been so effective for me in calming my skin.
I’ve tried and enjoyed lots of j and k beauty - 2 toners I’m really liking for a 7-skin style layered hydration are the cos de baha ma peptides toner and purito fermented complex 94 essence toner. I’ve also been enjoying the purito cica barrier sleeping pack.
I just had a needling treatment with growth factors. It is by stem facial. Maybe you can check it out. Just ordered 1 skin eye cream since you really like their products. Anxious to try it. I’m not that keen on Retinyl Retinoate because basic organic chemistry lesson from my secondary school years tell me that esters are in stable form and they are not likely to break down back into their constituents. Esters are what you get when you combine an acid (retinoic acid) + alcohol (retinol). Alcohol as defined in chemistry terms. Just sharing my personal opinion. So until the science has shown that retinyl retinoate is more effective, I’m sticking with retinol. I am interested in retinal though. Love Penny as always. ❤

I’ve only ever bought those cotton rounds at target (they’re target brand). Hydrogenated being negative is typically associated with food/ingesting the ingredient (at least to my knowledge) 😊
It’s actually a Coco Butter scent which is sort of a chocolate-y scent. 😊 it dissipates so not too heavily scented. Johnson’s makes a good oil-gel formula that’s thick like this one too, in aloe vera which is a mild scent. It’s in the baby aisle. 😊
I'm starting to get confused about products. Needless serum and SELF-ESTEEM Beauty Sleep Serum...what is best for pigment issues and neck? I ordered the dermelect product but know you rave about the Dermtlgy stuff too. Can you point me to a tutorial as I try to sort all of this out?
Hi there :) I recently did a routine video and explained how I use the sleep serum if that’ll help. Personally I use it two nights or so a week. The needleless serum is almost all other times- I just don’t combine those two. I use my needleless serum almost every morning but could use it at night too (just not on the sleep serum nights). They are two very different serums- the sleep serum is acids (exfoliation/refinement of texture turnover/pigment help) the needleless serum is nourishment/peptides/barrier repair help. The sleep serum has l-ascorbic acid which is active vitamin C. The needleless serum has a copper peptide. Those two things don’t love each other. So I keep them separate 😊 Hope that helps!
@PENNSMITHSKINCARE thank you I have used a simple dark spot correct product off Amazon by Feli. It actually lightened a bit. It got me on the journey to make changes. My skin is so less dry etc from many of the new products I've tried. Using SPF became really critical as I got diagnosed by myself with actinic cheilitis on my lower lip. Got cryotherapy and need one more I think. Really scared me. I walk daily and the sun just brought it to a crisis point. Sad my vermilion border won't come back from what I've read but grateful it stayed pre cancerous. I really love Nécessaire body lotion and their exfoliation bar. Little by little I am finding products I like. Very expensive journey. I have crepe neck and that made me get serious. It has already improved. I just think at 67 my skin was like you cannot ignore me anymore.

I just paused your video for a moment Penne to ask a question about the Burst product, I’ve been left with No Taste Buds from having Covid some time ago, I’m wondering if this product might help me with that, my Dr just told me it’s something that happens from a side effect of having Covid, we kept it totally away from us having a Mum with a heart condition and she wasn’t long in a nursing home and picked the darn thing up from there and then I got it and then my husband got it But I had it the worst and now left with nothing tasting the same anymore, everything I eat has no taste to it and I don’t enjoy anything…I hope you can get back to me on this, now back to your video, before I get back to it, have you ever heard of the skincare brand Rejuvuas, it’s an Australian company and has lovely skincare products formulated by a Dr here in Australia 🇦🇺…❤️❤️❤️
