Thank you for covering this topic. I am a 73 y o female living alone in a hurricane prone area. I have two Jackery power stations, 500w & 1000 w. I don’t want to deal with the weight of a larger one. This year I bought 2 small personal fans for travel. One goes around my neck leaving both hands free and the other is a small hand-held one like you showed. I may look into air conditioners next. For now, my plan in case my pets and I need AC is to get in my hybrid car. There are great videos on how people use a Prius or other hybrid as a climate controlled camper.
I’m so happy you were prepared, especially living in a hurricane prone area! I’m also happy you were able to get out in your car with your pets to get cool! we also have a Prius and can use it to keep cool. Unfortunately, my 86 year old mom is not as ambulatory so we need to have a way to keep cool while in the house😊
Yes on the Edc bag. Great ideas, we lose power so often that we made the investment in a large gas-powered generator that runs the whole house. Gas not propane for the reason that we don't need to rely on fuel being delivered. Trees are down, and those types of trucks can't drive thru. We keep enough fuel at least for a week running time, just flipping one switch. We use the fuel for mowers and other little machines anyway.
Very smart and my parents used to have a propane generator and it was great, but like you said you were lying on propane delivery to make sure you have enough. I’ve lived in so many apartments that I have learned to have something quiet to generate power because because in many places, you cannot have a gas or even a propane generator if you live in an apartment or townhome.. 💕😊 i’m so happy you are prepared and thinking about these things before disaster strikes.😊💕
Great ideas Eunice, I have several of these. Living in Canada, I have to worry about cold far more often than heat, but the heat and humidity is really bad here a few months a year. I have 4 or 5 power banks that I keep charged, and several fans. Two of them work off my Ryobi batteries, of which I own at least a dozen. I have a tiny 'air conditioner' that is really a fan in a small container that you put ice cubes in. Not much use in a large space, but I got one for my Mum to use in her 500 sq foot apartment during a heat wave a few years back, and it's been working great for her. I'd put it by my desk or bed powered by a power station if the power goes out in a heat wave.
I use some of those Ryobi batteries for things too, and I find them so wonderful to have and they’re great for traveling in your car as well! They’re small and convenient. Really interested in that “swamp cooler” air conditioner that you use for your mom. If you have a link for that, I’d love to know about it.💕😊
Great video! Thanks! I went to France in the 90+ degree heat last summer. No AC! 🥵. I used the little handheld fan you showed. I set it next to my bed at night. It ran all night on one charge and was recharged and ready to go the next night. It’s amazing what a difference one little fan can make. Life saver!
Yes! I am so happy that you got a fan to help you through that heat! I was in India once and the power went out so we had no air-conditioning and of course you don’t wanna open the window because it’s hot and humid and a fan was the only way we could survive!😳
Such a helpful video. We live in a hurricane zone, so if the power if out for several days after, it can get really hot. Great tips. Thanks, Eunice. Would love to see an EDC video.
Living in FL and about to buy a portable a/c unit as our central a/c is out and will take some time to get needed part… helllooo hurricanes (Ian where we live 1.5 years ago) … def looking into one of those power stations!!! Thanks for the amazing info!
You are very welcome and I hope you are able to get a portable AC and a power station in time to be able to relieve you from that heat and humidity in Florida! 🙏💕😊
That little Bendy fan is wonderful and I even have a larger one that has a light on it that in another video I show that I hang it off of my chandelier above my dining room table so I can have light and air! So happy you’re keeping those pets nice and cool💕😊
Loved this video!! We've got a couple similar power units, and I always wondered if they could power a portable air conditioner. I'll be adding one to my list now! Love some of those fans also! I found your address and sent you an email also 😊
Thank you so much! That portable air conditioner can be a lifesaver…. Literally.! The solar fans are also amazing things to have. The little gray one is so nice that I might get an extra one just to keep in my car. I did get your email and I will be following up next week 😊
I've seen your spice carrier for travel, fill some with fine Himalayan sea salt and baking soda or anything else for homemade electrolyte recipes. I just cannot afford the packets unless out and about. Inflation has just hammered my low income to a pulp, I've had to be resourceful to still do some things...like basic hydration.
@@NothingToNoOneInParticular I feel your pain and having these little bottles makes a great spice set to to slip one of these into your purse for electrolytes and hydration and you can refill it with bulk size or make your own😊💕
queston for you! I bought this same model EBL power station and the same portable AC. If I am understanding the display correctly, the fully charged power station will only run the portable AC for about 2 hours. Is that your experience too? I would so appreciate your response....I am trying to decide if I should return this AC for one that may run longer during a blackout. Thanks so much for your help! I love your channel :)
@@jenniferbutler7569 so the longevity of how long the air conditioner can run on your power station revolves around a couple of things. Number one what is the ambient room temperature to start with and what temperature are you trying to get to number two are you running the air conditioner constantly on high? In my current experience with this particular set up, I’m running it in a bedroom at night where the ambient temperature isn’t as high and I’m not running the air conditioner on high so it’s going to last me longer.. also not expecting Room to get down to 72° but I would be happy at 76. 😊
