Paul later admitted, and recently, he knew they were great. He was nervous that VH would take time away from Kiss. And, in general, that Gene wasn't giving his all to Kiss.

House of Pain was on 1984. The parts were switched around but they’re all there. Much better sounding than the Simmons demo although some preferred the demo over the 1984 version. I don’t….those demos just aren’t that good.

@@stratcat9432the demos sound like they were produced by the same people who produced KISS albums. They were a round peg being forced into a square hole. The performances were fine but nothing like what Templeman and Landee would pull out of them later. The band felt the same way…it was forced. Obviously the record companies that passed felt the same way. But it was nice of Gene to try to help them out.

Eddie Van Halen joining KISS would have ruined his reputation as a musical genius forever....period. That CARTOON act was always a joke to every REAL band before or since.....ZERO musical talent as it was 100% marketing and smoke and mirrors and noise....Lots of $$$$ and NOTHING else....
