This is never true. Takyi Fri founded Tanoboase around 1650, During the period of Ameyaw Akumfi I reign. He moved to Techiman cus of Taa Kora. The 1723 war was during Kwakye Ameyaw I period which was about 72 yrs ago. If it was formed after 1723 then the name Techiman won't come, cus when Takyi Fri moved from Bono Manso to Tanoboase to Techiman, when some of the family members are coming from Bono Manso or Tanoboase they say we are going to Takyi man mu leading to the name Techiman. In 1740 all the elders at Bono Manso moved to Techiman meaning Techiman was already established. The elders moved to Techiman after Bono Manso was destroyed by Asantes in the 1723 war cus life became miserable there.
