S2R Baton ll , IMO, is still king for this type of light... S2R Baton ll can run on every nonproprietary 18650 battery I have tried, including those scavenged out of powertool battery packs. AND it will run on every CR/RCR123 I have found. Baton 3 PRO, will only run off of the Olight ORB-186C32 and ORB-186C35...I am sure there are others but the power drain/out put will have to match. The Baton 3 Clip IS an excellent improvement and the 2x runtime in Moonlight is awesome But noticeably dimer +/- = ? The other "improvements" in power lvls and runtimes are not enough to make up for the lose of battery compatibility. The switch is nice, but I never had an issue with that and would not notice without having them side by side. I have XXL/XXXL glove size. Proximity detector...meah, something else to fail. Color choice of Emitter is AWESOME. Color choice of light body is VERY welcome...the "Tan" has gone from a Magpul FDE to more brown and now even more of a brown losing any trace of green hue, but it is a good blendy color. I have a few original Warrior X lights from Israel (1 out of Poland) that are actually Tan/Khaki. Baton 3 PRO will be a great light for many folks, no doubt, but is it better than than the S2R Baton ll... If I could only have one...S2R Baton ll every time. (Same for the S1R Baton ll vs Baton 3, for same reasons...batteries) My critique on these lights has nothing to do with this channel. The channel is OUTSTANDING and full of VERY valuable info !!!
@@leoguy1609 Yep, as I said in OP concerning the prox. sensor, something else to fail...and they did/do. I am curious, what do you like more about the Pro over the ll ? I find none of the "improvements" to be worth the loss of the massive battery compatibility of the ll...IMO.
@@spektr540hemi I'm with you on the II, but after carrying both, the baton 3 pro's pocket clip and switch are enough for me to pocket carry. However, if I'm keeping one in a go bag or glovebox it's the II all day.
Glad you agree that the OD green set was the best value because I got my shipping conformation this morning... Can't wait to get the Baton 3 Pro in my arsenal of daily carry. I bought the Baton 3 in the last sale and I tend to carry it more that any others.
Understandable. But I gotta say the magnetic charging is really convenient! Unless you need to charge the light at places other than your home, like at your friends house. Then you'd need to bring the cable as well. But except for that I really like it 🙂
Don't think the hidden senor is going to be seen, for a while. I had just ordered a S2R. And was notified from them that there is a senor defect, and if I wanted to cancel my order or have the sensor removed.
I have the S1R Baton II, and it was honestly so perfect for me that I stopped looking at flashlight reviews on RU-vid after that. It simply handled all of my flashlight needs. HOWEVER, that Baton Pro 3 is looking pretty enticing.
S2R Baton ll is STILL the King of EDC for this type of light IMO... It can run on all "standard" 18650 batteries that I have tried, including those taken out of tool pack units. AND it can run on all modes using 2 CR/RCR 123 batteries ! It will run on all Olight 18650, where as the new "improved" Baton 3 will only run with the ORB-186C32 it comes with (the same that came in the S2R Baton ll, with slightly changed /arranged label) and the higher performance ORB-186C35. The 2x runtime moonlight is nice but noticeably dimmer... The other marginally improved power lvls and runtimes simply DO NOT make up for battery incompatibility.
I still think the WM2 is better than the Baton 3 Pro. For only a little bigger you get like 300 more lumens and a tail switch. However I think the biggest selling points for the Baton 3 Pro is the battery life and proximity sensor.
It's a very good upgrade from the s2r2..that's more of the way I'm looking at it..but I still don't think I'd carry it over the Baton 3, or wm2. The baton3 pro is a wierd middle ground. But someone will love it.
I do like olight and these deals make it super tempting but not being able to charge with any USB or use of other 18650 when I have bunch 18650 spares is a big reason why I haven't bought any olight besides their pens and little keychain lights
Just a question for you, but do you get mad at your cellphone not being able to swap out the battery when it dies? Atleast with olight you can always buy extra batteries to swap out if needed
I have the B3 Pro in "basic black". Like the light. No coplaints.....though I do prefer "long lights". If they could habe made the B3 Pro close to 6" :) Eager to know what Olight has planned for this year 2023....a new version of their w3s and S3 Pro? :) Will the upgraded fetures be ones we want?? More lumens power? Add a colour LED to the lights so we don't need filters. Has been done. Just not by Olight yet. Offer the w3s and S3 Pro in NW.... odd they haven't already done so....they got the teCH....my B3 Pro is in NW...
So far I'm really loving my Baton 3 Pro. But I also don't have any experience with the S2R2 to compare it to either. All I know is, it's a fantastic light & a real joy to carry & use. I'm really wanting a Warrior 3s, but the metal tail switch is a big drawn back for me. Seems like that is the weak- link with all the "metal tail switch" Olights . Eventually they start giving you problems and stop working. I would much prefer a rubber tail cap saitch and C-type charging. But you're not going to get that with Olight. THEY LOVE THEIR MAGNETIC CHARGING SYSTEM ! But at least they did a really good job on the Baton 3 Pro. I think it will quickly become a fan favorite of Olight junkies. 😎👍
Ok. Definitely an improvement that they are using different color tints. I don’t know if they’ve offered that as much before or not. I bet the tint looks pretty good at a brighter setting. Im with you on wanting high CRI. Is it running 4000k?
I thought the exact same thing when I saw the Baton 3 Pro. It is literally the original Warrior Mini with the problems fixed. I'm really hoping they add the tail switch to make a "new" line of Warrior minis because I love the size of the original (not that the WM2s were bad, by any means).
Baton 4 pro coming to theaters soon lol.. I think without the tailswitch it's a true edc light. Trust me I really like having a tail switch on all my lights... but b3pro would just be overkill for such a small light don't you think
Trust me when your in pure darkness you don't really use high or turbo other then trying to see something far away, I've been on 4 night backpacking trips and when I get home I maybe have just little under half battery life..
I’m having issues with my Baton 3 Pro proximity sensor. Causing high mode to drop to medium mode. I have to keep wiping the lens to get it to work properly. Returning it.
My S1 baton has been in my pocket every single day since they introduced it and it still works like new so I can't justify a new light. But the Baton 3 Pro is making me think about it.

I picked up the NW ODG Pro from Amazon for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. (Yes, I knew about the freebies, but I had gift cards and needed the free shipping on other Amazon items) My first thought was that it looks like one of those mini corn on the cobs! So far I've been INCREDIBLY impressed with the light, however my only quality light to compare to was a CW i5T, so take that as you will. I definitely see the yellow cast on lower modes, and it does bother me a little, however I prefer it over the swamp that the i5T puts out. Also, I'm wondering if I won the tint lottery because I can see a slight pinkish halo... IDK Compared to the i5T's 300, the high 600 mode looks shockingly clean, something I didn't expect at all. (Is the i5T really that bad, or is that the difference between CW and NW? I had thought the i5T, while not having the best performance due to CW/
What would you do if let's say your other brand of light dies in the bush? You pop in another battery or recharge it.. Can't believe you just asked that.. Smfh.....
@@bryoncatterall The difference is that most flashlight nerds probably have lots of spare 18650s, other brands could use any of those. With this one you have to have an Olight battery, though at this point Olight fans probably have a few Olight batteries.
Button opposite the clip? He pressed the flashlight against him, and it turned on ... Bad idea. The brightness sensor is a good idea, but reduces the flashlight's ability to self defence. Thanks for the review👍👍👍
@@maxlvledc I sometimes carry a flashlight by simply hanging it with a clip on my belt. And the button will be out... There is a risk to turn on the flashlight in such conditions. And the loop at the top of the clip is made to be worn on a belt... And if you carry it on your belt without a holster, sooner or later this will most likely happen. They themselves, without realizing it, limited the options for carrying this flashlight. All my experience with flashlights tells me this...
@@maxneyasit8130 I respect that , but not all buttons are equally easy to press..I agree with you however that non static positions are better. This makes the Warrior mini 2 a better choice for you.
@@maxlvledc Thanks, I'll take a look at its specifications, maybe it really fits. Several times I had to turn ON my flashlights in the cold. Frozen hands press the button with less effort. A hard button is a problem in such conditions. Also, the problem is the inclusion of a double quick press - if the fingers are frozen, their motor skills are worse, they do not want to press quickly. For this reason, I have abandoned RoviVon Aurora. And Nitecore TIKI has the same problem...
I mite be the only one here that actually hates the pro clip, maybe if they placed a indent where your index finger sits that would make it the best for me.. I just hate how my index finger is resting up against the end of the clip..

@@Horde334 olight puts zero stipulations on what I have to say about them..which is part of my condition for reviewing them. They feel aggressive because they send them out to soooo many ppl.
