Love the ceiling and the floors and I am in that small percent that loves all the imperfections it’s adds so much more character we actually done the same thing on one of our floors since then we have sold the house and that was one of my favorites!

So nice! We lived in a house built in the middle 1800's. The kitchen used to be the porch, so it had beaded board under the tiles. So out when the tiles. The house being so old had a lot of natural rough cut right from the .it was a story & a half, so it has those weird little angles walls, they can be a pain, but give it so much CHARACTER!

The craftsmanship of that floor is like none I have ever seen. I adore it. I truly appreciate and know the time, attention to detail, patience and daily motivation it took to do that floor. We are just finishing up putting pine boards, ship lap style on all our living room walls and beams on the ceiling. The transformation I wanted was when you step through the front door of our house it looks like you just stepped into a Tennessee cabin. Now, I just got to talk my husband into doing the type of wood flooring that you did. 🤣🤣 thanks for sharing. It's beyond words.

I love the English cottage look as well! My home is over 100 years old but the previous owner put new windows in at different times and ended up with 5 different styles!! A couple of the original windows were left but the north side has cottage and the south side has prairie style. Can you please show how you cut and applied the finger-joint mounding? Thanks!

To think that beautiful ceiling was covered up. I love how taking off the shades and changing the bulbs modernised the fan. The flooring looks amazing a lot of work by your hubby paid off.

Beautiful! What about the insulation on the ceiling or are the wood planks below it? Just curious! The floors are gorgeous! Here's an idea for down the road.... the small upper windows on both sides of the fireplace, replace with rectangle ones with Mullens for a true cottage look.😊

My grandparents had an old farmhouse with wide pine wood floors. I loved it so much & have always wanted wide pine board floors. You are not alone in your love of “old” things. Old has character & I love feeling like everything around me has a story/history❤️

Love the floors! We did good one side plywood cut into 6" wide boards, bevelled each side, stained dark! I love how they turned out! You are right they are not for everyone but I love them! Everything looks great!!

That pine idea- we have been trying to replace the worn carpet upstairs, but LVP? Ew. I think we would love the pine, even though our house is a colonial, and although neither of us is handy, the materials cost would be right. Great redo! Amazing how the white/dark combo stain works to de-yellow the pine!

As a fellow lover of old things we aged our 80's ceiling fan by dulling down the shiny brass, removing the blades and reshapingand painting them black. New shades were harder to find but I love your Edison bulb idea!
