I love this game, but I feel you often need a substantial bankroll in order to weather the huge swings. It is definitely feast or famine, at least in my experience. A single great hand can get you a nice profit, but first you have to survive many hands in a row winning nada lol. Thanks for sharing, Kelly!
Yes, finally!! Most tables I've played you do not open your hands for everyone to see (plus it kinda ruins the spirit of the game) although players will occasionally tell others what they have. Easiest strategy is to use the point system 2-5 =0 pt, 6-10 =1pt, J-A =2pt, you want at least 2 pts to see the first card, 3 pts for the second, and 4 pts to draw the last. Play all pairs to the end. I like to 3x big flush and straight draws for the extra payout when they hit. And then I just realized you're still at the Lucky Lady paying that $1 commission oh no! I live in LA and I refuse to play Miss Stud here anymore because of that damn $1 😆 And lastly, yes this game does have the most extreme swings. I've been lucky to hit quads 3 times already (and also folded quads twice) in only a year of playing and I am probably still down overall with some huge losing sessions.
Like I said my theory on this is to fold 60-70% of the hands your dealt and then when you get dealt a pair or have two high cards you start betting the max!
no, you only bet the max when you already pushed or won... just having two high cards does not mean to bet max, thats an easy way to lose all your money in this game
Folding on your hole cards is the same as folding before you see the flop in Texas holdm table game. Alot of it is gut feeling, but you should at least see the first community card especially on small cards
Hi Kelly The Progressive bet did NOT pay out - so not to be depressing I did not keep track. Mississippi Stud reminds me of Pai Goi In Pai Goi many hands end in a tie, but a winning payout is only even. In Mississippi Stud you lose most hands but any winner is usually in multiples of your ante. Thanks for trying it out - I enjoyed the video. Len
Yes.... And honestly we lost more on on all the other games than this one because even when I'm betting every street, my bets are a lot lower. And when they are higher, it's only because I know I'm getting paid.
i usually play one unit higher than the ante on the pairs plus, to cover my folds and losses when the dealer has a good hand and once in a while a large payout - same as 3 card
Only played a handful of times...a dealer taught me said if you have a pay and a push card always see the 3rd street if nothing pairs up then fold. Also told me always play the 3 card bonus because pays on any pair. You could have nothing to "play" but dealer can flip a flush a straight and you win! I also kept a pair of 2s but was lucky that I played it out the dealer flipped trip 3s so ended up with full house...you never know. Just sharing...hope it goes better next time!!
Honestly my favorite game. But it really needs to be played with a full table of people to make it more fun. And the winning seems to come with more people playing. Good luck!
Been playing this game for years. It does go up and down. I play every hand all the way. Have hit more 4 of a kind on small card (1st was 2's in 1992) then on faces I play $10 ante and $10 on pair plus - always take $500 to the table. I watch the cards and go up on bet if hitting. Last 4 of a kind I hit for $10,000. I play in Mississippi.
This is my favorite game but it can be volatile. I've had nights where I never won a hand and others where the cards were in fire. My best night ever I hit quads 3 times in an hour and a half.
You need to fold more. Use a point system to decide whether or not to bet on the next street. Faces and aces are 2 points, 6-10 are 1 point, low bare also 1 point. Minimum of 2 points to play. Minimum of 4 points to bet 4th street. Minimum of 6 points to go all the way.
I think you might be seeing my rake. This card room requires a one dollar player rake. If not, you are looking at the three card bonus which I didn't play. I had never played this game and haven't played it since so I honestly don't know what it is or how it is paid. Many people were upset I didn't play it so maybe it seems to be a pretty standard bet that MS Stud players play.
Not one of my favorite games. Have only seen it played on RU-vid but as you proved, you can lose a lot quickly. Hopefully in the next video you can show us that you can also win big quickly! Good luck 👍🏻, I’ll be watching.
@@BeyondBlackjack a little bit haha. Man that game is rough . Lol stay far away from it lol . Baccarat is by far the best game I think.. hey if you wouldn’t mind. Check out my channel too. Gambling vlogs . Maybe subscribe if you like it .
Not dumb at all. It’s just unusual for most places so most people don’t know what it is. This particular card room charges a rake to the player AND the banker. Most card rooms only get paid by the banker. So the extra dollar is just the price to play the hand. Not something I would do again. We didn’t know about that when we went but thankfully they had given us match play which covered that.
I love playing this game..... I've won $1500 in 20 minutes and have been down $300-$400 and came back after chasing my loses. My wife and I stopped at a casino on MD eastern shore and I walked up to the Mississippi Stud where they told me no one has won in over an hour, so I sat down and no one won a hand in over 2 hours LMAO
I’ve played this online betting only $1 a hand. I’m very hesitant to play it in a casino though. The variance is way too extreme for my bankroll. It is a fun game though.
Never had played this game/ I have watched people played and win the Progressive game and they have Won $100,000 hundred’s thousand dollars 💵 Wins. And sometimes only in the first hands 🙌🏼 played. Good luck 🍀
You might be looking at the rake this casino has. It is a California card room so all games have a $1 rake to the house because they don't bank their own games. It was a very strange thing to learn about. When we even go back, I may do a video with management and have them explain because it is very different than a typical casino we are all used to going.
Idk that i would want to play this table game. Seems hard to win .. lol well Not that others game are easy, but thank you for showing me a different game. Better luck next time 🍀
Apparently you guys didn't do any homework for this. It's painful to watch you chasing when you should fold. The wizard has an easy to apply points system. Thanks for the vid
No I really didn’t other than a quick glance. I said that a few times in the video. I’ve never played this game before and didn’t know I would have a chance to until right as we were going.
Not gonna lie, this is the quietest I’ve ever heard you! I could literally feel your disgust. I avoid this game when it’s machine dealt. When it’s hand dealt, you seem to get better hands. Also, when more people at table, things seem better. Avoid this game when you’re heads up and it’s machine dealt. Good luck!
I remember saying to Jamie, "Why would anyone ever want to play this game?" Lol I thought it was horrible. Interestingly enough, I stayed at this table for about 4 hours and didn't want to get off in the end. Once the cards started flowing better, I was hooked.
@@BeyondBlackjack Like many of the games, it’s extremely aggravating when things start going south. But super fun at times if you can get through the aggravation. I can’t wait to watch the remaining videos, keep up the great work!
I didn't want to play the side bet. I would not have since we'll in it if i had. There may have been a couple wins but overall it would have been a loss. And the extra dollar is the rake for the card room. It's required at this casino and many California card rooms.
@@BeyondBlackjack Thanks didn't know about "rake". Please don't give up on this game. You had bad run. Don't do like I do and chase. And once in awhile try 3 card. Your great love watching you
Are you getting it now, the only hand that matters is the dealers. AK suited means nothing. Play for the dealers pair, that what are doing without playing it.
OUCH Girl!!! Ugly beat on that one....Even having Jamie in on a hand or two nothing seemed to help. I think you've made my mind up on whether I want to try this game or not Lol. Well, good to see you guys on again. Prefer you in Vegas, but can't have it all. Sorry to hear about Scott leaving RU-vid, liked watching his videos and antics during his editing. Hello to Jamie and hopefully we'll run into each other at some point and play a table game or two :)
I'll be having dinner with Scott tonight and definitely interested in hearing more about his decision. He will definitely be missed. He's incredibly talented and actually does some producing in his "real life" which is why his videos are so great.
@@BeyondBlackjack That’s great. I know he doesn’t know me (well you don’t either lol) but please pass along a fist bump and best of luck to him. Looking forward to seeing him again 👍🏻. Enjoy dinner 🙂
It was actually one of my favorite games by the end of the day. Lol. And the $1 card room commission is just part of playing there. They gave us some comps which more than made up for it.
I clicked like the video for your RU-vid likes, but really would never play this. Can't even imagine the casino fee of a dollar a hand ... I'd never gamble again! They should reimburse the player for sitting and losing that much!
I play this game like wish I would’ve wish I wouldn’t have I fold 90% of my hands because if not you’re just fishing for a win and losing 90% of the hands
I don't have any interest in changing my bet sizing for the sake of subscribers or views. We have a very strict budget that we stick to for this channel and that's where I stay. This is about fun more than anything. If I lose a few hundred dollars, I can still have fun. Now when I am buying in with a thousand or more... that's a different story. I think once someone starts betting very large and starts losing that kind of money, it usually takes the fun out of it - hence some of the other channels that I will not name. 😉
Stay away from this game....you all had what? 5 winning hands...its a money sucking game that you rarely win on. and the lowest odds. Keep up the good work..
@@BeyondBlackjack I know, I have followed y'all since you started your channel. Love the other games and your enthusiam though!! Keep up the good work...
