In Spain, Italy and other cool countries they don’t treat their citizens like criminals for engaging in a basic need activity. In Texas it’s a felony with a two year sentence. We are becoming like the Taliban in Afghanistan that locks people up for 5-10 years for solicitation of prostitution. Essentially, this is just a puritanical law. Stop this ignorance

@dingytv538 Right? I did a little research and S12 EP3 came out in September 1999. Today we have more snatch & grabs and the other crimes you mentioned. The younger generation is taking over. A lot of them don't want to work, they don't have good work ethic (work to get paid, put in the hours). I say some because there are young people who go to school, study, and work. However there are some young adults and grown ups who for some reason believe they can get away with certain things. And that they're "owed" certain things in life. I was always taught if I want something, go to work, save up and if you still wanna buy it, buy it. Don't catch a record & get in a trouble with law enforcement or with stealing other people's property. As far as prostitution, they have a vice squad and that's all they do. Set up decoys to catch the Johns. If someone really wants a pro they should save up, take a vacation, and travel to a country where it's legal or where they look the other way.

A lot of the women doing it come from trafficking or have be assault victims being exploited and many guys who do this have wives or gfs they might bring stds back home to and they are cheating in the relationship

I honestly can't understand why prostitution is illegal. If both the prostitute and the john are consenting adults, it seems like it should be nobody else's business.
Picking up girls off the street is dangerous. You don't know what her intentions are. Many will claimed you raped them and sexually harassed them. This could lead to your downfall by serving time in jail. Or you could ended or UNSOLVED MYSTERIES. I wouldn't do it because it is too risky.
I don't know why, but I don't like the fact that they do this. To actually have an undercover female detective out there pretending to be a prostitute, just to catch those trying to pay for sex; is not right, imo. They should not be doing it at all. Nor should they be busting REAL prostitutes AND guys trying to buy sex. There is no difference between having a one night stand for free, and having a prostitute. If its the money that causes the issue, then whats the difference between friends with benefits and you helping them pay rent? The illegality of prostitution is stupid.

Where I worked, they had one of these things outside our building on the main highway. We stood by the side of the building for smoking and used to holler. Don’t stop don’t stop finally the police came and told us to go back inside the building and mind our own business. I really feel this type of treatment is not right.

Creating a crime scene/entrapment should be against federal laws. The law only has the right to maintain laws, not create them if "business is slow." Secondly, the intent to break the law for drugs or prostitution should never be a crime unless the money has been delivered and the job description has been explained. The cop said its guys like the motor biker who are to blame and not the prostitutes even though you see them in loads off the street but then cops never arrest them because they use them for different purposes sadly
I'm reminded of a story one of my co-workers told me. He and a group of buddies went golfing down south somewhere. He got a call in his hotel room to come bail some of the buddies out of jail. Apparently they were driving by some lady and, for a joke, one yelled out to her, "How much?" That lady happened to be an undercover cop doing a sting for prostitution.

The cop was like, "It's guys like you that cause girls like her to be working" WTF kinda sense does that make? Then the female officer acts like she's flattered by what the 'John' has to say about her. So they all walk away feeling prideful and self righteous thinking they just put a big dent in crime when what the really did was entrap and ruin the lives of a few men that were just looking for love in all the wrong places.
