Unironically this might end up being my favourite sonic game. Murder mystery, a train, a relatable conductor dude who’s sad about retiring from the train he loves, sonic characters, espio being an absolute delight, Knux wearing the OVA hat…. Damn this is a passion project through and through.

Something I noticed is that Shadow is actually caring for his friends for once (making sure a poisoned sonic is okay and wanting to buy tickets for amy)
This is how Shadow normally is, and the fact he is characterised so well here makes me happy. The IDW Comics REALLY dragged him through the mud, and made him look like an apathetic asshole.
@@hihi-nm3uy That was more so the mandates than the writing team for IDW however Stanley said that Sega's loosened up the mandates on Shadow so they'll get to write him more freely
I love how the Dream Gear segments are based on the characters you’re interrogating. For knuckles (the dude with big spikey fists), you gotta dodge big spiked balls. For Espio and Vector, the stage is purple and green, and you have to dodge shuriken. For Shadow, you have to dodge yellow spikey blasts that look like Chaos Spear. It’s a fun detail.
The concept of a Sonic Graphic Novel is so left field yet so, Sonic. I loved this stream and game very much, I wish they do more, paid dlc whatever, this concept is too good not to continue.
To be honest, I almost want Ian Flynn, Tysson Hesse, Evan Stanley, and the other Sonic IDW team members to adapt this into a comic book now, which could be a challenge since this game is sort of another self-insert

The fact a true crime podcast exists here implies that murder is just as common in the Sonic universe as it is in our world (I mean I know Maria was murdered, but jeez), like serial killers could be lurking on the streets of Station Square or something.

Egg is the best bit. I accidentally picked the right option first in an attempt to kill everyone so I had to reload a save to get all the wrong options.
For something so purposefully deviant from the formula, the characters and settings make this fit into Sonic's universe without much difficulty. I wouldn't be too averse if they did another visual novel like this.
It’s a shame that genuinely good stuff like this can get lost in the shuffle sometimes due to the “April fools” thing. And that if it *didn’t* release April 1st it probably wouldn’t be talked about at all, or at least be seen as a weird side thing. People should be allowed to make weird and out of the ordinary stuff any day of the year. We’d get a lot more laughs year round if we did.
For the rouge eyes thingy,in sonic X they were depicted as green.and her eyes have always been a shade of teal or cyan,shades of bluish green,it's possible she has green eyes that look blue under specific lighting Also I love the characterization they gave the mc,the pain of the trash can bring empty hit because I always made it a point in Pokémon black to check every trashcan

You missed several conversations that you can have if you talk to the characters a second time, especially early on I would recommend doing so, talking to Espio repeatedly for example gives you a bad poem all the time, and Knuckles has very funny answers too. Anyway I'm impressed with how good the voice acting is, watching this after playing the game is a lot of fun. Also asking if the characters have any order is like Phoenix Wright showing his badge, you get fun answers.
Aside from my reasoning based on the evidence, I assumed Espio was the murderer because he sure had quite a lot of worried expressions compared to other characters.
I had my suspicions on him ever since I saw that he read the Train Schematics, since I just completely guessed that he read something about a secret passage since he scanned the entire book so thoroughly… I was _half_ right, since I expected the secret passage to be in the Fireplace, not above the train.
I enjoy how, in the timeline of this stream, Vector and Espio are gay, Blaze and Rouge are gay, Sonic was coming, and Amy, as always, was hornyposting on main. Leaps and bounds better romance plotline than any Sonic game has ever had, which isn't saying that much considering the last one to have one was I think 06, but still. Also, I think when Sega greenlit this a light bulb appeared over their head, they pointed their finger up valiantly, and screamed "URETHRA!", because they got it, I feel like the vast majority of Sonic fans would have paid full money for this. Here's hoping they make more. I LOVE VISUAL NOVELS I LOVE EMPHASIS ON CHARACTER INTERACTION AND WORLDBUILDING
I want more April Fool's day games like this. Just some fun light stuff. Getting to spend some time in this world with these characters just being buddies is always nice.

I'm starting to seeing a pattern here, We definitely did not expect frontiers to be a 7.5/10 and this game had no right to be as good as it is, looking forward to more of that, SEGA.

Forget being a silent vessel to project onto, in this game you’re a fucking dumbass who somehow solves a murder mystery on your first day at your minimum wage job. Because this game don't have any voice acting, everytime I would want to watch the gameplay of this videogame, I will check this video. The voice over was very spot on.

From horrifying kidnapping over murderous ghost posessions til Manifestation of figments of the other peoples minds. Basically, everybody starts living their own nightmare and depending on who's characters Route you play, you get to live their nightmare. Of cause, all starts in the disguise of an Option do date the characters but in the end, every Route gives tiny bits of Information to unravel the massive net of lore that the drama and Trauma of the characters is based on. It's called "echo" Pretty fucced up but a good read
