there are training videos present where they run in a straight line while men just a few yards away fire live rounds at them in front, behind, below, and above. to get them used to gunfire.

When I went through basic training for the army, we had a course where the drill Sergeants and trainers fired machine guns above us and had barrels that would simulate artillery shells landing close by.

Before he passed away, i tried to get my grandfather to talk about WW2. He never did. Years later I came across the grandson of the pilot of the B24 LIberator they flew during the war, my grandfather was the bombardier. Apparently they got shot down on their 10th mission near the german swiss border, half the crew were killed. The remaining crew were saved by my grandfather, and he was awarded the silver star for his actions. Nobody in our family knew about it. crazy stuff.

They were all brave men, everyone that has served in wars. There's a chance you will never come home. Fortunately my dad saved my mom and I was born in a refugee camp hospital in Malaysia. A women from the opposing territory did hide my parents and got them to a boat to cross the ocean in stormy weather. It was like a story you only see in movies.

@Live from the boot that's how invasion works. Invasive force must have atleast 3:1 to gain upperhand. Invasion is very difficult thing to do if you don't want to turn that place in to dust before hand. and if the defenders are capable and war hardened like the ukrainians, then things get more difficult.

If western media wasn't busy spewing propaganda you'd know that two regions in Ukraine allegedly voted for independence from Ukraine to possibly join with Russia. Whether that is true or not, you can decide for yourself.

Russia is fighting for many things in this war, mainly a friendly Ukraine, that is not a threat to their nation, it's fighting for the pro-Russian separatists, that have been trying to get their home regions to join Russia since 2014 and it's fighting for the people of Crimea to get the water they need to survive.

@@susanneg8983 They don't see a reason to be. They are surrounded by NATO countries, and Finland (who have history of kicking Ruskie arse)... So they stay neutral in the cold war and if anything happens they can pick sides based on the facts of who is truly the aggressor. But generally they see it as waste of their time commitments since they'll know weeks ahead if they're being attacked from Russia since they'd have to go through the baltics, Finland, or Norway (which is NATO).
