We are missing players like Raina/dhoni/yuvraj who used to come at 5/6/7 and changed the course of the match. If you will look at our wins in the world cup we won in 2011 and 2007, most of the crunch matches we won because of 5/6/7. We are way too dependent on top 3 players and Virat/Rohit are not the same anymore.

If Team India does not arm its tailenders with all-rounders and chooses bowlers who handle a cricket bat like an ice cream cone, you can expect more of these results. Also, please know that Ishan performs in ODIs only because he has been given an opening spot free of pressure. In a T20, he is under pressure from ball one, and don't be surprised if he frequently fails. Likewise, send him to a pressure spot of 4/5/6, and he would flop. Gill is relatively young in T20s with a few good performances, and it shows. Jaiswal could have opened today. He may well fit into the team. Verma is a great choice. However, Hardik does not know how to use him to bowl. Well, we only hope things improve in the next game.

Major problem is that lack of genuine all rounders and finishers. If you check 1983 team (Kapil Dev, Jimmy Amarnath, Madan Lal, to a certain extent Roger Binny and Kirti Azad) or 2011 team (Yuvraj, Sachin, Viru, Suresh Raina and specially M.S. Dhoni a marvellous finisher). Nowdays there are no allrounders because of this every coach and captain is helpless. If we have to win any tournament be it ONE DAY OR TWENTY-TWENTY we have to groom genuine all rounders.

I know that because I am a huge Virat fan,I want him to still be in the t20i team but as an opener with Gill because firstly Ishan Kishan has badly failed in t20is and does not have a single good score in last 10 innings and secondly Virat had a great ipl 2023 as an opener and we all know what he can do in t20 world cups.I agree that in ipl, Virat has played many slow and negative impact innings but for india in t20is, he has always covered up his slow starts and went onto stay not out and finish at a very good strike rate.

@@ashishtiwari2372That was a poor innings and nobody can deny that.I know that he has many times got to his 50 in 38,39 and 40 balls before that innings in t20is and that he mostly covered up with 25 in last 10 balls or 30 in last 12 balls but in that innings, he was coward, selfish and most importantly wanted to just get to 50 and remove the stain of failing in icc knockout matches.
