El incendio declarado este viernes en la Sierra de Mijas ya ha obligado a evacuar a un total de 2.300 personas. En concreto, 1.300 vecinos de Alhaurín de la Torre y 1.000 de Alhaurín El Grande. Y es que el fuego ya afecta a los términos municipales de estas localidades. Las llamas se iniciaron en el paraje de El Higuerón, en el término municipal de Mijas y se ha extendido con rapidez por la fuerza del viento y por la cantidad de masa forestal de la zona afectada. En un primer momento el incendio avanzó hacia Alhaurín de la Torre desde Mijas y en las últimas horas las llamas se han desplazado hacia Alhaurín El Grande. El consejero de Presidencia de la Junta de Andalucía, Elías Bendodo, se ha desplazado hasta el Puesto de Mando Avanzado desde donde se están coordinando las tareas de extinción y desde donde ha informado de los equipos que están trabajando en este incendio. También ha querido aprovechar para destacar la colaboración de todas las administraciones que han aportado sus medios para ayudar en sofocar las llamas. El subdirector del Centro Operativo Provincial de Infoca en Málaga, Alejandro Molina, ha explicado que se está actuando en la zona de la cola del incendio, que fue el punto de inicio, en Mijas, donde la situación, según ha dicho, es más favorable que en Alhaurín El Grande. Desde el 112 se recomienda a los vecinos de las poblaciones cercanas que cierren puertas y ventanas en prevención para evitar que el humo entre en las viviendas. Hasta la tarde de este viernes, se había perimetrado una zona superior a las 800 hectáreas. El Consorcio Provincial de Bomberos está coordinando el trabajo de unos 75 efectivos procedentes de diferentes parques de la provincia. En total, 120 bomberos se encuentran sobre el terreno trabajando en la extinción a los que se suman 15 medios aéreos.
