I can take on significant debt well beyond my annual earnings if it’s locked in at those rates over 30 years. And, those rates are going lower before the Fed raises the IOER and ONRRP/RRP offering rates as the ceiling and floor for Fed Funds range. When they tighten they don’t have to sell. They just showed they don’t have to actively sell any of their assets to move rates higher when they want to.

If Peter gets other people to freely support his channel (i.e. using other people's money) it's not Socialistic unless the government forces them to support it through their taxes, like PBS or NPR. So, it's Capitalistic what he's doing, it's just tacky in his case because (a) it's a true calling of his to spread his true evangel, and (b) he's got plenty of his own money to support his own channel, which couldn't possibly cost him too dearly. I mean, I'm sure it costs him way more in time than it does actual overhead expenses. He should fund himself and keep his brand clean and pure. Let's not waste his time, my time, our time with tacky ads and sponsorship plugs.

BullsEye3333 I don’t. The only time I sell is if I have a friend that wants to buy some. I have no need to sell as I have no need for paper cash. I’m just holding onto it as a store of wealth. I suppose I’ll sell based on if I need to sell to buy something. Not based on what price it might hit. I have 10k+ oz of silver at this point. The only other reason I’d sell is to convert to gold to lower the amount of space it takes up.

It’s not that simple. The price of gold is not determined by a single variable relationship with the US Dollar. Supply and demand for the commodity matter. What does it cost to produce gold? If it is cheaper to produce gold, then miners might be more profitable, but, they are going to greatly increase gold supply. Will increased demand for that physical supply keep pace with the increased production of gold? If not, the price of gold can quickly cease its rise, flatten, and sharply decline. It’s similar with miners. While their earnings Q2 and Q3 this year should be spectacular, what if oil prices increase to $50-$70 per barrel by Q1 or Q2 2021? The cost to produce gold greatly increases, earnings take a hit, and earnings targets are missed. The result? Mining stocks can tank quickly. Markets aren’t rational. Back to gold itself. Simply because there is a potential inverted rational relationship between the gold price and the price of dollars doesn’t entail that market participants function with the same reasoning process. The same is true for the dollar. It’s not a simple matter of printing dollars vs not printing dollars that determine whether the value of the dollar goes up or down vs other currencies. Are other central banks printing as much? What is the need for more dollars in the world? For: Oil, Balance of Trade Payments, Debt Payments? Right now there is a massive need for more dollars globally. Is the Fed’s expansion of dollars going faster or slower than that growing need? (hint, slower - which is why the value of the dollar is going to rise in the short term). This is why you don’t want to be in non-dollar denominated stocks in the short term.

@@NetPlaySoftware I completely understand where your comming from. But falling real estate prices cause many current owners to end up with negative equity. Yea, I get it, from everyone who wants to buy a house...So what? Well this is why that matters. When current owners calculate their equity positions on zillow and realize they are significantly under water, many stop paying their mortgages and start mailing in their keys instead of their payments, after squatting a year or two first, of course. Then they even have the gaul to demand payment from the lender to leave. Cash for keys so to speak, because of all the onerous anti eviction laws. This would likely cause a further collapse in lending and negatively effect the health of the overall economy al la 2008 all over again, on top of the devastation in the economy that's already occuring. I completely understand how people want to buy homes and can't afford them at current prices. But I believe the fed has already picked its poison regarding this issue reguardless of what either of us think. It's not like this event scenario is some unsubstantiated economic theory floating around out there. What good are falling home prices if everyone is unemployed as a result? This is just one more example of what can occur when government interferes in markets by allowing home buyers with loan qualifications of simply being able to fog a mirror with zero or low down payments. Seems like a great idea until home prices fall. Homeowners of course want all the profits when prices rise, but have no problem sticking losses on lenders when prices fall. It's human nature. Just sayin.
