Today, I would like to discuss a certain aspect of narcissistic behavior that often goes unnoticed until it's too late. This is the final act, the last trick that a narcissist pulls off before they finally make their exit. At the conclusion of our narrative, we often find ourselves blindsided, unable to comprehend the subtlety and covert nature of this maneuver, primarily because we are already overwhelmed by the ongoing dynamics of the situation.
Many of you, I presume, have experienced this firsthand, having been embroiled in relationships with narcissists. And for those of you currently navigating such a relationship, it's crucial to understand that the narcissist's actions follow a certain cyclic pattern. This pattern usually follows the progression of valuing, devaluing, and discarding, and it repeats over and over again. This is their modus operandi, the fundamental blueprint of their behavior, and it's characterized by a rhythmic predictability. They follow this pattern, not out of choice, but because it is ingrained in their psyche and their lifestyle. It is a learned skill set that they employ time and again, regardless of the circumstances.
Interestingly, these individuals might be highly successful in their professional lives, leading thriving businesses or enjoying high-powered careers. Their public personas are so convincingly normal that anyone would find it hard to believe if you were to suggest that they are, in fact, narcissists. They are masters of disguise, blending seamlessly into society without raising any suspicion about their true nature. This makes their actions all the more dangerous and their covert nature even more insidious.
However, behind the façade, they are entirely different individuals. They morph into characters that are unrecognizable and often hard to believe. The discrepancy between their public and private personas is what makes them so dangerous. To an unsuspecting observer, they might appear perfectly normal, but once you understand their behavioral patterns, their thought processes, and their interaction mechanisms, their narcissistic tendencies become glaringly apparent.
