I have a traptrix deck I made for fun, but now I may actually consider getting the Ragnarika cards to combo with them. Looks like a fun anti-meta play style.
I’ve been playing Ragna-Naturia and that has been a lot of fun. I also already own all of the trap trix cards so this will be my next spicy Deck!! Thanks for the list!!
You have my abo.... i like the Style how you create this video.... a bit dark, badass, music... good atmosphere! Music from "YuGiOh! Forbidden Memories" would have been good in the duel scenes too :D i feel DarkNite-Vibes here XD
at 1:51 you can just summon another traptrix monster instead of evil seed, and just use the one that is on your hand by discarding dionaea, and banish that butterfly for evil seed's exchange, with that you can make raflessia instead of that useless mantis monk by the end of the combo and summon sera from gy next turn during draw phase using holutea
plus, when you really must use stag sovereign's "destroy 2 monster" effect, but opponent only has a single monster, you can chose sera for the second target due to being protected by raflessia
@@Gilgamesh-em6ru Except that both Traptrix and Ragna is a combo deck. Traptrix shifted heavily from control to combo ever since the support they got. Holutea, Arachnocampa, Pudica, Traptrip Garden, and Pinguicuila all facilitate a faster "lets get our pieces together" instead of the make Sera set4 pass that they used to do.
@@Dantelor the difference is pure traptrix can counter nibiru this combo doesn't put up a counter to nib. There is literally no reason to even put princess in GY. They never put another strenna on board to get the monster negate live
The Problem with this deck is that you are extremly reliant on your first card and on Sera. If the opponent just has something like a single Ash, Effect Veiler or Imperm you can do basically nothing unless you have an insane starting hand. And going second or into maxx c is even worse.
branded despia player is so disappointing. so stupid. I found a lot of hole in traptrix combo and should've use mirrorjade to banish to interrupt the combo. but no. especially when I see rikka queen R4 and link 2 aroma monster. I already have a bad feeling if I just let L2 aroma to use its tribute effect on rikka queen.
@@closedworld5 grass is a casual +10 and pot of greed is banned for being +1. It isn’t okay. They limited that monster mash +1 spell for being a draw 2 as well.
@@fadeddragon123 I didn't say either of those cards were okay. I just stated that Grass and Kit won't be banned on MD because the people that play it are obsessed with mil and pile decks. Why do you think MD still has Snow?
Reporting from the duel cup, 75% win rate either way out 20 matches for me with RagnaTraps. Them going off is a thing of beauty. I’m ending on either monk and stag or on stag and chain coil with a strong backrow and sera shenanigans. This is rising up to be a top 3 deck for me and it’s actually fun to me like RDA
Nice work GIS! 👍 So this is the new Ragnaraika in action? Not bad… Ragnaraika is the Tri-Brigade for Plants, Insects & Reptiles right? I wonder how many archetypes get a nice boost from this. Too bad these cards have no use for me as I have no deck to use them in I might see them appear in the upcoming Duelist Cup event mixed with a few other decks. Speaking of the Duelist Cup, what are you planning on using GIS? I’m going with Centur-Ion this time with a few fun tricks added in
Thank you kindly, my friend!💙 I'm loving Raika right now, they are REALLY good in my opinion (and yes, as you said, they are very similar to Tri-Brigade!) I'm playing this Deck currently, but I'm just starting right now, I didn't have time before. Centur-Ion is a great choice (what tricks?👀) , good luck with the event bro!!! 😄
Hullo me again, are you secretly a guy called Owen? A friend of mine I was just telling him a couple nights ago that most of my fav decks contain Dogmatika and was gona be bad if they decide to limit or ban some cards xD just gona be checking what I got spare to give this deck a shot
Nice combo. I'm still learning ragna engine and just playing turbo raflesh and go to ragna line😅😅. I baited nibiru too using time redoer and went to ragna line.
I already used it in ranked and unless you are going second against top tier decks you should be ok but since i only played it on Plat 1 i kept running into strong decks and going second most of the time with trash hands i had to close the game and call it a day lol
is there any substitues for maxx c because in the tcg they hit maxx c on the ban list and i kinda wanted to build this to run in tcg tournaments soon i already have a traptrix deck in and of itself i just dont have the rika cards or the xyzs cards and some of the holes you have in the deck
Evenly matched works since it can clear boards going second to make it easier to establish. It works since even if you can't make use of it you can always discard it for holeutea
You can special summon Traptrix monsters from the deck with Jasmine, but they don't do much of anything helpful on turn 1 unless you turn them into Sera and then activate Holeutea. If it's like Evil Seed 4 hand traps, than I don't think there's a play that is worth talking about. Jasmine is your bridge to other plant cards, but it doesn't help Traptrix as much as other decks like Rikka.
@@FakeHeroFang yeah I figured, I tried out the superheavy wakaushi engine to summon pinguicula without the normal summon and while it's good, not being able to use called by or crossout against maxx c or other handtraps is annoying especially considering it's a handtrap heavy format rn
As a traptrix enjoyer I like this version as well but it's still overrated in my opinion. The xyz fortress engine has done a better job for me and dealing a surprise 8k+ with a traptrix xyz is just priceless Nice video tho, I was just missing stag sovereign and 4 SR since I'm playing the plant solitaire deck so it's a nice other way to mess with the ai xd
Personally im not a fan of the ragnaraika version because it makes it play too much like a diet plant pile for my liking. Might as well not even be playing traptrix
Also, it bricks like a mother. Or it'll die to a single hand trap cause the Ragnaraika stuff is too fair AND cause there's no room for the mandatory called by/cross out/TTT. Yeah, it lets you make a big board with extra disruptions. But how many games did he have to play to get footage for this video where he bricked on Ragnaraikas that weren't seed or got his turn ended by an ash or something? It just seems to me that pure traptrix is better.
Agreed I've been testing a lot of variations and altho its not a bad engine and it lets you fix your field a bit if you didnt find any/too many traptrix cards. Altho you can get to the Ragna part easy with jasmin, it still feels better to get Cattycorn for the traptrix field spell if you dont have access to it or (if you have it already) get Rikka princess for a negate and have Teardrop extra disruption too @@Metaknight145
How about match up againts Yubel? It kinda difficult for me since we don't have a non destruction removal. My option is to replace the Traptrix link-2 into either blackcorn or malevolent sin
Many people in tcg just main deck evenly match since at worst it can be a discard for holeutea. Also you shouldn't be running the traptrix link 2 anyway it's really bad
You have to be extremly lucky to even have a chance against Yubel. Its not even close imo. You basically have to banish Yubel somehow with a trap, and then hope they play the variant that only plays one copy. But against most meta decks this deck stuggles a lot. 1 handtrap can often deny you doing much of anything. I have been playing a variant of this deck for a couple days now. I only got a single win againt yubel in MD so far I think. But I will try your suggestion for the extra deck and maybe even evenly. TY.
@@Hollo1001 i rarely lost to yubel with my pure traptrix. you just need bunch of hand traps 3 copy of (veiler, imperm, maxxc, ash also called by) Traptrix anti meta for a reason. as long as you have the backrow it's hard to counter. only meta decks that are hard to win against is tearlaments and snake eye fire king
@@clydezied9118 In pure traptrix you can play a lot more hand traps yes. Not sure which one I should play because openings with ragnaraika are a lot more consistent.
@@Hollo1001 i have my ragnaraika/traptrix deck, yes you can do 5-7 negates in your 1st turn if your opponent don't have handtraps. and no it was not consistent. if you don't have ragnaraika card in your hand you can't do ragnaraika combo & if your opponent manage to break your combo midway your'e doom to loose.
Yeah, that's precisely why I prefer the standard build. Raika give you some much appreciated extension, but makes the deck way more vulnerable to Maxx C and other hand traps. It also gives you less room for hand traps, and the engine doesn't really improve the end board by a significant margin. It's not really what Traptrix needed to become a stronger deck.
@@dissidiamaniac460 did you even watch the replay? He literally tributes it off THE VERY NEXT PLAY FOR JASMINE EFFECT. So his combo is literally never safe from nibiru or push through nib.
You can, but ragnaraika skeletal soldier can only activate effects if you have not special summoned monsters other than plant, insect or reptile during the turn. And if you activate any ragnaraika effect this turn, you will not be able to special summon other than plant, insect or reptile for the rest of the turn.
