They don't play like "kids" though. If you knew anything about the history of the NBA, you would know that NONE of the hallmarks of a "young team" are exhibited by OKC. They don't turn the ball over, they don't lose close games, they don't make undisciplined mistakes, they don't have defensive lapses. Also..... all the advanced statistics say the Thunder are a TRUE title contender already THIS season. Number 3 ranked Offense AND Number 2 ranked Defense. Net Rating of 7.4 (when NBA Champions generally are 5 or more). They're the best three-point shooting team in the league, which speaks to creating good shots, and taking good shots. They also lead the league in steals.... AND blocks.... AND deflections. They ranked 2nd in true shooting percentage and 3rd in effective field goal percentage, which are high indicators of championship winning teams. Every statistic, every measure, and every criteria says the Thunder are a championship team, NOT a team of "young protagonists". This team is not the Grizzlies that had ZERO offense. This team is not like ANY other young team in NBA history. The only statistic or number that casts doubt on this season is their literal age. They tick EVERY SINGLE other box to win it all. Offense, Defense, Coaching, PlaystyIe, and everything in between. Honestly, if teams want to beat OKC in the playoffs.... they better do it now. This might be their last chance. They are the second youngest team in the league, and this was their first year of trying to compete. They finished FIRST in the West... in "Year One".
