Hey, this is a very well understandable tutorial and i am using this as my starting step right now to make things in World Painter. I am thankfull that you set everything in order and presented it in the easy to digest way you did :3 :cookie:
Much thanks for spending your free time providing us with such information! Also the worldpainter community link you have in the description, really gave me all I needed!
Lord Dakr you should do rivers, different types of mountains, cliffs, realistic forests, interesting shorelines, caves, CONQUEST, hills (like hemburg-ish hills) and fjords
Im having issues with Biome Painting and the right degrees to 'paint' each mt layer in to make it look "realistic" Thanks! Love your World Painter Videos! - keep up the great work!
Thanks for the tutorial! I tried to get into World Painter in the past and I could not find a good tutorial for learning. You've made things very simple and easy to understand! Thanks!
I was just thinking about making a new map for modern buildings in minecraft but i didnt really care to relearn everything but this is a great opportunity!
This is gold! We're just getting started setting up our own server, and the first thing I wanted to do was design the map... thanks for putting this together!
I really like this program, I used a picture of a small little cute island from around my local area and turned it in to a massive, mountainous behemoth of the seas. Now it's like a continent of it's own on a 4096x4096 canvas.
man. i would *love* you to update these tutorials! you did such a good job. most of its the same, but a lot is so finaky. like working w/the deep dark.
I'm kind of interested in learning about doing under water features if you have any good suggestions, such as underwater ravines, maybe even mid-ocean ridges. Reefs could be cool as well. I realize that a lot of it might be doing what you do above land just below the water. But if you have any tips or suggestions for underwater stuff I'm all ears.
Hey! I have a question that I'm not sure if you'd know the answer to, but I don't think it'd hurt to ask. I'm working on a large map, and due to circumstance, I'm exporting parts of the completed map at a time as I finish them, so we can work in MC whilst waiting for the whole map to be completed. We'd like to then put it all together as one map in the end, but I'm not entirely sure if we can. Do you know if it's possible to merge multiple maps into one (That also have builds on said maps) without any corruption of the maps or builds, or do you think it'd inevitably have something missing or wrong somewhere? Dw if you don't know, we'll figure something out regardless (worst case scenario, export final map and then just multiverse and WE the builds onto the new map and accept it'll take quite a while to do so). Anyway, question aside, this was a good, informative video and can't wait for more in the series! I've used WP for years, but I bet there'll be quite a few tips and tricks in your videos that I don't already know and can use! Thank you for your time to read this, and I hope you're having a great day! :D
Hey , man! This is a great video. I had a question about importing a black and white heightmap. I have an image that I made a long time ago, just one biggish-island, 1:1 pixel to block. It keeps giving me a "non-indexed image" error - but that's probably something I can fix up on my own. My question to YOU is, is there a way to set it specifically so that elevation will snap to "every four blocks"? (Not that Skyward Sword was a "good game" but did you notice how they used height to make sure you could only sprint climb certain spots?) I definitely want that "level design" aspect tailored to Minecraft -- you can't jump 4 blocks high naturally, you'll have to find stairs. etc.
So I've made a map that has a large amount of building outlines and I was wanting to replace the material I used for the streets of the city. So is there a function that allows you to repaint a specific material or do I need to use a really small brush and avoid the building outlines I made?
im having an issue when importing a world and adding custom trees from the palm tree layer. when i add them in and merge worlds it raises the terrain under all of the trees. i cant seem to figure out why. any help would be great. thanks
Fixed :-D Thanks Mars Title Started off as "How to Make a Custom Map in Minecraft" hence the error when I made it plural and didn't read it afterwards!
Excellent set of tutorials on World Painter. In your videos, what are you using to get your water to look so real? I have read through all your information and the comments with no luck.
For 1.20.1, If anyone is wondering why the custom terrain option is not showing up, go to terrain, click the "+" and there'll be an option to open custom terrain from file. Since there is no "ok" option for completing the custom terrain window, you have to save. So now take that save and open it. It will then create a new window for custom terrain.
I am new to using world Painter. When you make a map, will Minecraft add the animals, other trees, and monsters automatically or do you have to select it? I ask because I saw a check box for allowing Minecraft to add everything. So I am just confused on the generation part.
I'm having issues with exporting. I've been trying to export my custom world into Minecraft Version 1.21 (which my first test world worked successfully). But now every time I try to export another custom world, it exports successfully, but I never see it in my worlds list in the game unlike my first exported world. I do look at the .minecraft game file and see the world file but it's never in the game for some reason. If you can help with that I would really appreciate it
Just recently tried this but for some reason my world painter isn't wanting to load up properly. Takes a very long time to load it. I took the files out and then it ran up smoothly. Any idea why this would happen or how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated! Awesome work as always!
Tip for who doesnt have world painter, the program will requie Java JRE, yu have to download It from oracle, search JRE download on your browser, register or log in the site and start the download. After that you have to restar your PC, if you don't do that the PC won't recognize the update. Also download the last versione of java...
help, when i select the sand like he did at the start of the video it just makes the whole world sand instead of water and if i make it water then i can't place anything with the height tool it just raises the water like mountains but doesn't place any land pls help
Looking for assistance here because I can't seem to find the answer in need on line. I've watched this first video (EXCELLENT stuff, by the way. Thank you!) and followed step by step what you showed, but still don't have the option to play the map in Minecraft. I'm using Bedrock edition, Windows PC, tried saving map to different location (including the default .minecraft folder); can't seem to get it right. Any genuine assistance is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Thats because the map the editor makes are for Java! But dont worry, you can convert your World Painter Java World with Minecraft Editors to the Bedrock Version! I suggest using the Amulet 3D Editor.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN INSTALLING CUSTOM BRUSHES. If you install too many your computer will have a lot of issues loading Worldpainter and may even run out of RAM.
It´s been 2 years so you probably won´t see this but I need to buy something called winzip for this? I just downloaded worldpainter and I don't know what to do
So I have a problem, everything is HUGE and I have no clue how to make it smaller. Another thing is since the new world window doesn't have a scroll option I cannot click the create button anyone know how to fix this?
How to create a custom tree and use it in world painter to create a biome...? Can anyone please tell me... And how to get new blocks of nether update in world painter? If you could tell me how I'll be really happy... Thanks in advance
Hey. So I just installed WorldPainter, and when I close it and then want to open it again, it always wants to reinstall the entire thing.... anyone know why? Because there is only one WorldPainter icon on my desktop, and when click on it its the setup wizard... Pls help
Dunno if you still have this problem, but go into your ProgramFiles folder, scroll down, and open the WorldPainter folder. What you're clicking on is the installer, not the actual program
For some reason anytime i export the world and try to import it through Minecraft windows 10 it doesn’t let so i had to go and copy and paste the files and put them through appdata but even the only 1 chuck loaded properly I’ve checked everything no one knows how to fix it can you help?
