The tote idea is genius. It's going to be so pretty. I don't mind making granny squares if I'm using up scrap yarn. Then it feels like I accomplished something. My Mom purposely makes granny square baby blankets from new yarn. Now she's making a long granny square cardigan for my adult daughter. I'm glad granny squares came back into fashion.

I used a canvas tote bag as a lining for a granny square bag I made a while ago. It worked out well

Hi, a good idea using the bag as a liner. I saw someone used buttons to attach the crochet for easy removal.

Maybe the extra 4 squares are on the sides, making the bag deeper? Looks like you have a great plan 😊

Great idea to use the tote bag for a liner! You might be able to crochet over the handles of the tote & then they'd be really sturdy & won't stretch. 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
