Alright folks I’m nervous about this one!
My love of hair color started when I was a tween with sun in. Since then, I’ve had my hair almost every color under the sun BUT I’ve never done it on my own. Let’s give it a whirl!

I had no idea she had her own brand! Im going to have to check it out. I miss my purple hair lol. Dying your own hair is so hard lol. I have so much hair and my arms were burning after it all lol. Ugh! I can imagine, my arms were burning with just this little bit! Aw thanks honey! 💜💜 I remember that hair! Needs to make a comeback in 2020! Although I don’t miss straightening my hair for 30 minutes to achieve it! Overtone is awesome would def recommend! My only gripe is that it smells of peppermint (very strong!) but i tolerate it for the performance.

You just did this way more professionally than I've ever done my own hair lol. I've never used a balm (although I think I'll start now) and I've always dyed from top to bottom and not bottom to top like you did here. But hey! My hair always turns out decent though! Been coloring my hair since I was about 14. I'm coloring soooon!

OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It came out so good!!!!!!! I think you should embrace the fact that you match your car now and do a photo shoot with it lmao. I started dying my hair when I was either 16 or 17, box dye red. The Garnier Fructis violet red for dark hair, I still have a love for that color lol

Just read it's more red tint to it vs yellow I'm in love next is orange lol from this as it will be a very easy transition has this color will fade orange lol

I sometimes start from bottom to top but lately I have been doing top first since that’s mainly what fades out since that’s where I apply my shampoo. I also do it so the dye can sit there longer while I’m doing the rest of my hair. I really want to try this brand but I have too much hair and I know it’d be expensive 😭😭😭

I recolored it about a month or so ago, and started from the top. I tried to do a fade between full pigment and a lighter orange. Only lasted for a couple washes 😭 but it did seem easier starting from the top! Yea there’s definitely not a lot of product in there 😕 I wish they sold a larger size (at a bulk price)!

Be sure to use cool water and sulfate free shampoo to make the color last longer! Love the color!

@Kayla Remarks sadly no sky blue as canada don't have it in Sally's yet lol so blue ruin and there aqua teal like blue it is bleach all good dye young..... and some ammonia free hair color remover I mix with water 💧 lol then after those I'll decide what I do next will I stick to one of the blues or go orange sooner lol

I started with SunIn too 😂 my hair naturally lightened by itself in the summer thanks to spending all summer in the pool, so adding SunIn was just to help even it out a bit. Then in middle school I started dying it black bc my hair started going white thanks to my endocrine disorder 🤷🏻‍♀️ For years I went between black & dark red, then tried variations of brown with blonde highlights. I went back to black a few years ago and it’s my happy place 😂 If I want to go colorful I just wear a wig. Honestly I wear wigs like 90% of the time anyways 🤷🏻‍♀️ I love your hair!! @@KaylaRemarks Aww thank you ❤❤ Girl, Amazon!! I've really gotten lucky with all my wigs from there. I had a few flops 😂 but I've bought over 20 and most have lasted over a year, so a few bad eggs isn't bad. My nieces LOVE the ones I don't end up liking and use them for dress up 🤣 So honestly it's a win win all around. Either way they get used so it's not a waste of money 🤷‍♀️ I was sticking to bang only wigs, but I've branched out & have 2 lace fronts that I love now. Amazon is honestly the best for affordable wigs, though I'm thinking of trying out Webster wigs, they are a UK based brand that are supposed to be really good.

Hey Lauren! Yup! I think the gdy lasted pretty well. It was about a year ago now, but from what I remember... it was maybe 3-4 weeks before I started using a color enhancing conditioner (overtone). I was happy with the results. Hope that helps!

It was awhile back but I remember being super impressed by how long it stayed bright! At least a few washes…. And I only wash 1-2x a week (always cold). I rely on overtone from there. Hope that helps! 💕

It lasted really well for me! I eventually switched to arctic fox just because I could get it at work..... but I just saw GDY has new pastel shades. Thinking of trying them again next time!

@@KaylaRemarks Yeah I usually go with Arctic fox or pulp riot! But Arctic fox’s CEO was called out to be an animal abuser, looked her up and I personally don’t like her 😅 so I’ve stopped supporting that brand. That’s why I’m looking for a new one. GDY it is!
