hi, I never eat sugar I am trying to cut it completely however I still use it for lemonade juice because its too sour without sugar, I wanna replace it with this, does it taste good?
I use it with my Apple cider vinegar and water in the morning. 8oz water, 2 tablespoons vinegar, and just a splash of the monk fruit sweetener. Makes the whole thing more enjoyable.
@@Jesusbride515 Thank you. I have discovered an even better sweetener: Pure Stevia from Trader Joe's. There are no fillers like erythritol, which has known cardiovascular adversities.
@@patrice2304 Try Truvia . It is stevia mixed with a pear extract. ! I also use natural raw local honey to sweeten . It’s great for you! One tbl. a day . 😀
I’ve been drinking monk fruit tea my whole life without knowing it was monk fruit. Good tea. My mom told me she had friends in the old country that would have monk fruit trees and the just break off pieces of the fruit to suck on like candy because it was really the only sweets they could get their hands on beside sugar cane.
I use it already :), the 'sugar' version (granulated). My downfall is diet coke.. i'm waiting for a similar version to be made with monk fruit sweetener..
Diet is worse than sugared soda. Check into 1988s findings. The chemicals in diet soda make you gain weight. I quit diet soda, replaced with lemon water, lost 30 lbs of my change of life weight and kept it off. ❤️
And get flavored carbonated water, add squirt of monk fruit. Works for me & i can drink with less sweet if i want by deluting. And gives more options of flavors.
You're the smart one, the whole monk fruit craze is a case of people willfully choosing not to look at the man behind the curtain. While I would never advocate people eat table sugar in all likelihood it is better for you than monk fruit
You’re the best! I love creamer, this substitutes sweetener but what’s a creamer or milk substitute? If you can do a short of a nestle coffee creamer replacement that would be great!
It is some 200 times sweeter than sugar, it has to be mixed with other sweeteners. When mixed with erythritol, it's fine. Avoid ones mixed with sucralose, aspartame, or natural flavors.
Can’t stand the taste difference between all these sugar substitutes. Taste awful 😞 either metallic or bitter aftertaste that reminds me of all the zero calorie/diet drinks)
I decided to buy 100% pure monk fruit 4oz for $20 big eyes as a sugar substitute because of my gulbladder condition that causes major pain everytime I eat sugar...and to my suprise I kid you not my pain was so much worse and sever with the monk fruit. All I had was 1tsp added to my tea and when the pain went away I tried it again same pain. These sweeteners are no different than the ones we found to be much worse for us years later like splenda. If you want to be healthy you have to dramatically decrease your sugar intake or cut it out all together.

You are very helpful to this community of followers, doesn't monk fruit come from China? How can we be assured that this product is not contaminated? UNTIL THIS PANDEMIC IS OVER, I am trying to eliminate products not sourced in America. This not an assault on other countries. I just want to try to be cautious regarding my health.
Hello Dr. Mandell, can you please let us know what do you think about a product called “Cinnachroma” We value your opinion and appreciate your answer, as I’m trying to get a loved one with his diabetes. Thank you in advance for your assistance and cooperation regarding this issue.
Hey Doc, I bought some on line last week but now, taking a closer look , it is Erythritol and Monk Fruit, not organic either. Perhaps you could comment about that. Is the plain organic Monk fruit the way to go? Is the mix with Erythritol not so good ? Thank you for this info. I was diabetic for 10 years , injecting insulin but I turned it around by getting off Lots of pharmaceuticals and losing Lots of weight. 😁 Blessings ❣️
Buy only pure monkfruit powder (or stevia powder). The liquid monkfruit and bulk monkfruit powder have filler ingredients. A serving of pure monkfruit powder is a coke spoon. If you are in the US, Trader Joe's has pure stevia powder for an excellent price, and yes, it comes with a coke spoon!
I have to respectfully disagree with LVNCSR. I was not impressed. The golden sugar crystals were ok when used in cooking but I got white sugar, golden sugar & monk fruit 'nutella' and there's a weird aftertaste that's hard to describe. Like most foods, it's just going to come down to personal preference.
I wouldn't use the NOW brand Organic Monk Fruit liquid sweetener since it contains sugar cane alcohol. I use Splenda Monk Fruit liquid monk fruit sweetener. Ingredients are: Water, Monk Fruit Extract, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, and sodium benzoate. I simply wouldn't want alcohol in my liquid sweetener.
@@isaz597 if your from the uk look in Lidl they a have a lot of different syrups and one of them is called sweet freedom and it’s plant based that is the one I get. Hope this is helpful.
ALL monkfruit comes from China. I don’t trust food that is processed in China . These evil Chinese hate us Americans with a passion. They’ve been poisoning our pets with their cheap garbage pet foods. How long do u think it will be before they poison us? Id rather use sugar in the raw grown here. I only need 2 spoons a day in my oatmeal . 16 calories a spoon, 32 calories isn’t gonna kill me. But that monkfruit just might
I was gonna buy exactly this one you are holding, doc. But I realised that this one has de--ionized water and 11% organic cane alcohol, then it was a no no for me as I have no idea how they process those. Then I opted for another brand that is 100% pure monkey fruit.
A tiny bottle about that size cost me $13. And it wasn't even organic. I would hate to see how much the organic costs. I used about two teaspoons in a cup of tea and it barely sweetened it some. I'll never buy it again.
Hi Dr. Mondel I have recovered from Covid 19 after nearly 4 months from 3 months I have sinus problem few days back I have take MRI there is no abnormalities in MRI but tinglings in upper lip, facial pain and eye pain. Can you tell me please what it cause
I am not concerned about my glucemic index but my candidiases (candida albicans infection), If the monk fruit is sweet then it is of no use to me because the candida albicans feeds itself with sweet stuff and carbohydrates.
Have you tried soaking a tablespoon of carom seeds overnight then sieve before drinking pre-meal? Re-soak same seeds then drink before next meal. Re-soak again drinking before 3rd meal then discarding the seeds. Starting afresh for next day.
@@isaz597 Thank you for your answer but my candida infection is already gone because I treated with oregano oil. The point here is I cannot take anything sweet, no matter is natural or not and no matter it affects or not my glucemic index. I think I will have to quit forever sweet things because the moment I take it my red spots come back
@@marinabrandon5206 hi Marina, please try the Carom seed soaking it will help clean out your blood. I am sure it will help stop the red spots in future. Do it for as long as it takes. Also please advise how you took the Oregano oil. I need this. Thanks
@@isaz597 the oregano oil is taken sublingual (two drops) or you can take two drops in water or your favorite juice. It stopped the red spots in two days. Still I am taking the oregano oil because I love fruits and they have sugars, I am eating moderately. I do not eat neither pastry nor desserts I used to. Actually nothing sweet, and I also cut refined carbo I tried once a piece of cheese cake and they come back. So no more sweet stuff for me.
@@isaz597 I just google carom seeds and they say it has the same benefits that turmeric. I stopped using turmeric for a few months but I will use it again. Actually I have just eating a lentils stew and I added 1 tbsp of organic turmeric (grated) and 1/2 tsp of organic black pepper. Thanks for the info, anyways.
Dan,their is coconut sugar,Stivia, nd Fruit sugars. U have to look them up,n check them out. There is 86 names/words for sugar. Honey would be the best. Honey has been used for antibiotic. check it out. always do research on everything don't take everyone for their words. Blessings 2 U.
Honey is best if you're not looking to lose weight. Stevia is best for no calories so it helps to slim. But this monk fruit is similar as it has no calories but I haven't tried it yet. Stevia drops are the best Stevia to get as they don't have that weird after taste.
