Blue got robbed off that supposed "foul." GK fumbled it, also the ref gave him a yellow and started yelling at the captain afterwords for him asking "is it a foul?" Regardless, great video!
The goal was disallowed because the keeper had regained possession of the ball after fumbling it, followed by the blue player kicking it out of his hands, hence why it is a foul. The ground counts as a "third hand" for goalkeepers, hence why the keeper had possession after spilling the initial header
@@lucasarzayus4505 HAHAHAHA ABSOLUTELY NOT. gk did not have possession. it is clear there is a time gap between blue scoring and gk grabbing his hand feigning injury to get the call. terrible call by referee
@@shreddy33 Slow down the video to 0.25. time the time between when the ball was kicked and the keepers initial reaction of pain. divide that time by 4 to get the full speed time. It is about 0.68 seconds. There are many reasons your pain could be delayed by a couple seconds: 1. Adrenaline: can delay your response to pain from a couple seconds to a couple minutes depending on severity. Getting your hand kick at full speed by a striker is decently sever. 2. Nerves signals: sometimes nerevs don't transmit pain quickly, especially when they are shocked like here. Typical reaction time when you expect to have to react to something is 2 tenths of a second. A half a second delay is well within reason when you arent expecting to react. 3. Focused: If your focused on something (like trying to save a goal), your brain will prioritize that over pain reactions. 4. Emotions: higher emotions, less pain you'll feel. This is a overall high emotion game Of course he could be flopping, but he's not rolling around, not yelling at the referee (he yelled in pain once then become quieter). Watching him, it doesn't feel like he's trying to garner attention. After all of that the blue caption who scored came to check on him, why would he do that if he didn't think he kicked the keeper? You also cant say he did have possession, all he needs for possession is to be touching the ball. Doesn't matter how much he's touching it, if he is, it's his ball. In the video it really looks like his hand is there, there's a chance that it wasn't. It's the toughest call of the game for the refs, the AR with the best angle is still 30 yards away and the referee's view is almost certainly obstructed. Certianly not a terrible call, a great one given the circumstances.
@@Mm-zt3zx having 4 fingers on the ball for milliseconds does not equal control of the ball....i think that's the point you are missing. i've been a goalie for over 35 years....the keeper tln that shit at the end and it worked....smart quick thinking to overshadow the fumble he committed. nothing wrong with admitting that. However, that's not a foul....that's a legitimate goal. the refs messed up.
23:15 any time someone rolls more than once, or slaps the ground, you know they are faking. In this case the gentleman deployed both tactics thinking it would get him the penalty, instead, he received disgrace.
Technically, the ref called it correctly on the disallowed goal. In the Prem, Man U had a goal called back because Kasper Schmeichel had a single finger on the ball and Man U kicked it out and scored. They called it back because the goalkeeper had, "possession". The keeper did have his left hand around/on the ball. I understand it's not the EPL but still, the principle is still there. I could see it going both ways, honestly.
I disagree the goalkeeper had any part of his hand on the ball where the player and him met the ball at the same time. You’d need VAR to be certain there and at this level I think the correct call woulda been a goal.
@@mmmbiscuits1 Yeah! I totally agree too. Maybe it was the camera angle that made it look like his hand was around it, but I agree that VAR would be crucial to get the call correct!
I understand the argument, but the laws don’t change at different levels. If the keeper has his hand on the ball, it’s his ball and it can’t be taken, that’s the rule it’s no different in the prem from U8 soccer. In my opinion the keeper got his hand on the ball first (at least it seems from video) then the ball was kicked out. I even screen recorded it and slowed it down, and it does look like the keeper is first. The ref made the right decision so they don’t need VAR here, they just made a good call.
Freeze it at 21:12. The goalie had possession. Whether you like the call or not. The keeper had a hand on it, and between a surface. "A goalkeeper is considered to be in control of the ball with the hand(s) when: the ball is between the hands or between the hand and any surface (e.g. ground, own body) or by touching it with any part of the hands or arms, except if the ball rebounds from the goalkeeper or the goalkeeper has made a save holding the ball in the outstretched open hand bouncing it on the ground or throwing it in the air A goalkeeper cannot be challenged by an opponent when in control of the ball with the hand(s)."
@@dwdw781 He may have stepped on his hand AFTER the ball went into the goal (its not clear from the video). It doesn't have anything to do with the goal.
@@dwdw781lol he didn’t even touch him, last ditch resort for shit goalkeeping and it worked unfortunately cuz the refs a dumbass who didn’t even see it
I have no clue why the ref didn’t run in there with a yellow, would have calmed down the keeper if he was in there sooner and handed out the yellow sooner
Why are so many people so hard on the ref here? I thought the whole crew did pretty well. I mean, what do you expect? FIFA Referees? VAR? All around good refereeing
No, he got a yellow cause the ref was over emotional at the time. You can just tell by his body language. If he just explained the call, I think 5 would have been reasonable. 5 also kicked the keepers hand not stepped on, either way should not be a yellow for that as it’s just a careless foul not reckless.
Only needs one hand, only needs one finger. If he had anything on top of the ball while it’s on the ground it’s his ball and it can’t be taken. That is a rule in every level of soccer in every part of the world
I think this time it’s in the US. One of the endzones says corpus christi. That’s in Texas. Unless there’s a corpus christi in canada that i dont know about
That’s a Canadian football field, with two 50 yard lines. There’s very few Canadian football fields in the US, almost all (all that I’ve seen) have one center 50 line and 10 yard end zones not the bigs ones
Whoever said in the stands "If you don't protect the keeper nobody will" should go watch tennis. The goalie is like any other player, and it's a contact sport. Grow some balls LMAO
If you are playing the ball or within playing distance, yes, there may be contact. However, the keeper is always winning that ball. He had the ball in both hands as the blue player under cuts him (doesn't even attempt to jump). This is quite dangerous, keeper or not.
Actual law from IFAB: A goalkeeper is considered to be in control of the ball with the hand(s) when: • the ball is between the hands or between the hand and any surface (e.g. ground, own body), or by touching in with any part of the hands or arms
In my judgement, its a 50-50 ball and the offender is cleared to go for it. 22:08 shows the back view and you can see the keepers hand moving down as the offender is kicking.
It’s close, I took a screen recording an went frame by frame and the keepers there first. The referees may just be guessing or this AR just has some of the best eyes. Either way can’t fault them for making the correct decision, which they failed to do often.
That ref needs to checked out immediately! His license needs to be revoked from any future matches. I wonder if the ref bought his license from Phoenix Online University?
Honestly was not the worst game, it’s definitely wasn’t a good game, but not the worst He still only made 5-6 bad decisions (1-2 really bad ones), it’s not amazing but it’s not license revoking level. With a referee shortage too, this is what your gonna get.
@@Mm-zt3zx I dunno, that was pretty freaking bad. I’ve been around/played for a long time. That was horseshit. I played goalie, that call on that goal was shit. Many more than 5-6 missed. Like 20-25 calls. He lost absolute control of that match & we all should be counting our stars nothing else happened…good lord!
@@richyq8786 where are you from? They screw us over here with these multi use fields.. I personally hate it but I understand why they do it.. but it screams "crappy footy"
He ran through a player in the air. Somehow rugby gets this one more right than soccer; 8 should have been off. "A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent [ . . . ] must be sanctioned as serious foul play." Ducking under like that can flip someone and break their neck when they fall. Clear serious foul play, and thus a sending off offense.
This is not something that players typically get sent off for, more often this would be and expected yellow and a firm talking too. The ref should have been in between the keeper and 8 sooner, could have avoided the second yellow
