That thing she does is sort of related to a yodel technique. In fact, Diana has a video of a "Jodel" song that is a lot of fun. But if you like this one, you will love 'Rechenka', based on a very old Russian song & legend, about an orphan girl who is married off to a man she does not love, as far as I can tell. She has no one to bless her, so she goes to the river to speak with her departed mother & seek her blessing. Rechenka means river, and a river is considered to be the place where the living can meet with the spirits of the dead. Something like that. It is spooky, very tribal & shamanic, bound to give you more goosebumps! But there is much more to it than I can explain. In "Human" she does a bit of chanting that sounds universally indigenous. It reminds me of Native American singing. I believe she descends from an ancient Russian indigenous tribe.

The step is pitch perfect. Now 16, she has a career waiting for her.

15 years old here. you are super show which showcases talent from difficult backgrounds. She was basically tortured and abandoned on the street when she was 3. Her adopted parents thought singing would help her because she could'nt talk. She is trained in theatrics, dancing, singing, yodelling, acting, comedy, as a master of ceremonies, and staging. A really lovely person. The guy that pushed the buzzer last is Igor, he is her mentor and bought her to moscow

My understanding is that she's lowering her larynx while compressing her tongue in her throat. Very difficult to do and even harder to sound good while doing it. I've tried to sing this way myself just to see if I can, but I've had absolutely no luck with the tongue compression (the lowered larynx I've been doing for a long time without even knowing I was doing it, though I can't go nearly as low as her)...
