I see soniks game here, slowly add bits over the years unlike other brands who do all the bells and whistles in one go....next year sonik will release one with vents on all sides just like other brands top tier bivvies...mark my words, I see Thier business tactics here. Looks good though.
I’ve just got this Bivvy and used it for a 4 day session and I can not fault it at all I had wind/rain/heat/humidity and it has been an absolute blast with all weather conditions a few days this week it got very cold and the wind was bitter when I closed the Bivvy up I had no skin I was in a 4 season sleeping bag it got hot but I’m going to get the skin for next winter! Yesterday I was in the Bivvy I had the door half open to see if the heat in the 4 season sleeping bag would be better! I had a little trouble with condensation on the inside of the Bivvy but the conditions were raining and damp!! I’m sure if I closed the Bivvy on that night I wouldn’t have got the condensation so my fault having the Bivvy door open affected the inside! Honestly my opinion if I closed the door I would have been fine! The best part of the Bivvy is the back windows if it gets to hot you can open the back window with mossy nets or fully open to let the heat escape the air with the mossy nets was enough for me in April but in full summer with the option of opening both back windows will let loads of heat escape! With the 4 hours of rain I had! On the 25/04/24 the Bivvy with no skin had no problems at all the water beaded up and just flowed down on the sides the only thing I would have to say was on the top of the Bivvy I didn’t have any leaking but where all the poles meat at one point at the top you had standing water 💧 if there was more of a point it would just fall off saying that I had to bring my chair in from outside and it was leaning up against the wall of the Bivvy and not at one point was there leaking another plus was the front peak rain coming down I had the front door open front ground sheet was rain free unless you don’t think about the wind direction and plant your Bivvy direct wind 🌬️ lol but honestly for using this Bivvy in April with the all changing weather conditions is an absolute amazing Bivvy I give it an 8/10 when I get the skin for it I’ll update my message!!
@@Essexfishing no sorry for the long response mate still till this day I haven’t needed anything added to this Bivvy at all! I’ve had sun wind rain downpours still the little pudding on the top of the Bivvy but I left it to see what would happen but just sat in a puddle then not leaking into the Bivvy at all I’ll get the wrap or whatever you said I didn’t even know existed! lol 😜 I just purely want on my own fill and looks if you got it and got the extras let me know how you got on? But I’ve got no extras at all and still the best bivvy I’ve ever had just the Bivvy alone!!!
One of the worst bivvys i have ever had. Thepoles bent. The colour came out of it, and it went brown. The heavy duty groundsheet started to get holes in from the 1st night i used it
I got the old AXS about a year ago and was unaware the V2 was coming out. Disappointed with Sonik as they stopped making the extras straight away rather than phasing them out. I can't get an overwrap anywhere. Not everybody have deep pockets to upgrade. If anyone knows where I can get an overwrap let me know
I have the same problem, can't get an overwrap for original anywhere!! Considering getting the v2 version as website says footprints of both bivvys are exactly the same
I have the V1 XL and it is a great bivvy, not had any real problems with it. Couple of pole issues but Sonik customer service was exceptional and replaced them under warranty. Anyhow, my only grumble with the V1 was the groundsheet was not zip in, and after getting flooded twice this season already I decided to get the V2. My reasoning for this was purely for the zip in groundsheet, despite only having my v1 for around a year, but I can sell that easily. Anyhow my main point was that I read somewhere that the V1 winter wrap does not fit the V2. This is not true, having now got my V2 I can confirm my AXS XL V1 overwrap does fit nicely on my AXS XL V2!
Ive had practically everything sonik has brought out, for me the original AXS was awsome, but they never tild anyone the upgraded there material from the 1st batch and made some minor changes, my self n a mate noticed....after 6 months of the 1st edition launch i bought 1, mine was more green than my mates whos turned brown, mine had zip protection on rear vent zips, mates didnt, the 2 storm pole were different....
I just hope sonik learned their lesson with their pole design at the front as they bent I had the same problem but was made to pay for the one pole even tho there was a design fault
Looks like the same shoddy pole system. My V1 XL sheared off the poles at the bracket due to twisting and terrible design. I ended up milling some alu extensions to stop this happening.
My AXS XL is currently with Sonik awaiting a repair/refund (Had it less than 12 months) because the poles had sheared off in the spreader block. Be warned the poles are shockingly bad quality. Its a shame because it really is a great bivvy,
was going to get a trakker tempest 200 until i looked at the axs v2 xl, got that with the inner capsule, skull cap and overwrap for cheaper than the trakker and its a beauty.
I have the normal axs and XL, won't get the V2, wait for the V3, hope and pray that it finally gets "4" windows!! and that they're finally making magnetic rodstraps, I don't understand why they increased the material thickness, I've never had any problems with 10,000 for years, I don't feel like living in a black hole all day like with the overwrap... on the XL Anyway, you put the vapor cap on it and that's completely sufficient against the sun!!!
Hi Joe, it’s me again. I took the Bivi back to the shop we went outside with the shop assistant. He had a look at it it tried to find it out wouldn’t open properly so he looked at all the polls and the last pole on the right the fabric was put on twisted that’s why it wouldn’t open out sorted now. Love this baby used it on Monday.
It’s me again Joe. I took my baby back and the chappy there had a look at it. We took it outside the shop. He tried to put it up and it would not stretch out. Hence he looked around the polls and noticed one of the polls. the fabric was twisted when it was screwed on, now I love it it’s all been sorted out
Unsure if this is the best place to ask, but can you guys do some reviews/coverage of the Katran Crypton Carp line? it's interesting and what inspired Nash to bring our their new UV line, the difference being this line is nearly invisible and not bright yellow. Many thanks, love your videos and value your opinion.
Market is getting saturated with all these almost similar brolly/biv systems, a trakker tempest 100 is the best for the cash and won't be discontinued next year for whatever else comes along.
They have discontinued the trakker tempest now the new rs has come out. I was going to buy one the new one is 799 I went for the nash titan t1 instead. Its annoying how fast they upgrade gear .
New version of the Tempest is more expensive and comes with less stuff - this one includes the door and groundsheet which are extra on the Tempest. Can still get the old one on clearance though
