Something sometimes has worked for me is what Shine Your Light Detailing Mr. Concoction Tim taught on using a compound and finishing cream on a medium pad too and helps cutting and finishing at the same time. 👌👍🏼

Great tips like always Phil! I used a lot of your tips and methods to do the Platinum Detail, included a couple add ons for a co worker, and was able to charge $600 for basically your Plaitnum package for a small SUV. Total time was ablut 10 hours. I need to get a bit more efficient to get i to the $80-$100/hr range.

I like to rinse my pads out with the pressure washer turned off (with a nozzle on obviously) I find the water pressure that comes out the pressure washer with it turned off is perfect to rinse them out and then I just put it back on my machine and run it on high over a bucket and it’s good to go

Man for a 10 year olf vehicle, this is really nice looking. Looks almost like hail damage on part of the body but it's shined up very nicely. That Pure:Est P2 looks better and better in my opinion. I think I will get some to coat my car after I polish it. Great video as always, Phil & Jess!

As always “excellent video”👍✔️🙌…. Have a question for you. I have a black 2015 GMC Yukon Denali XL. It’s got almost 200,000 miles on it’s my daily driver. I have always taken really good care of it. Recently it got some over spray of something on it from driving through some road construction. The wind was blowing and sand was blowing everywhere. Long story short, I had to do a good clay bar cleaning over the entire vehicle as the contamination was horrible. This has left some heavy marring on the paint. I have tried three different cutting compounds (Mequiars, Pinnacle, Turtle Wax) with a microfiber pad and a heavy cut foam pad. I am using a Flex XC-3401 da polisher. I have been able to remove about 60% of the marring from the paint. But up close inspection you can still see some marring. From 5 feet away it looks amazing…lol… What products, pads would you recommend next. Or should I just let it be and not chase perfection? Like I said, it’s my daily driver with some high miles, but looks good still…Any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙌🙌. You and the wife stay safe and God Bless 🙏🙏
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 21 день назад
Hi. Oh noooo! That sucks! We have had to take care of a vehicle like that before. Wow I’m surprised the microfiber pad and cutting compound couldn’t get all the marring out. If you have already hit it multiple times I wouldn’t go any further.
@Magneticalltheway
@Magneticalltheway 29 дней назад
Hello. Great Video! When you are doing a test spot, how do you tell what is micro marring from your polish or compound and what is just scratches that were there? You said after you used the yellow pad and shine supply that you didn't see any micro marring. What are the signs that its micro marring compared to just defects that were already there that didn't come out with your initial pass? I hope that question makes sense. Thanks!
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 28 дней назад
Hi thanks. Micromarring is a very specific micro hazing if the paint is either very soft or the pad and polish combo is too aggressive. The paint will look glossy and swirl free but when you use a light to examine it you will see a very minor haze and up close it will look like tiny micro swirls. It. It’s very different than the usual swirls on the paint that you are removing.

Cool vidoe, GREAT final result! I shared on a previous video that I intend to try the Purest Protection Ceramic on my car. However, I am petrified about polishing my car. You and your wife make it look so easy and your results are always awesome! Will try to watch as many of your polishing vids before I even attempt to polish my car. Question...There are some rock chips and minor scrapes on my car. Would you suggest that I correct those before polishing?
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing Месяц назад
Thanks. It’s all about practicing. Grab a polisher and some good pads and just practice on your own or friends/families vehicles. You won’t burn through or damage anything if you are gentle. You don’t have to worry about rock chips. The polishing pad glides right over them. As far as scratches, polishing them should reduce how bad they look. If they are deep scratches down to the metal primer you can glide over them also. They will just need touch up paint to fill them in.

Hey guys. Did i see Jess do a wooly on the trunk and then a polishing pad? Must have been pretty bad back there. I know a lot of folks are "reconditioning " their cars instead of buying new or newer. It's pretty smart actually if the car runs great. Nice turn around you 2 magicians. Hi wife.

As a novice polisher, how often should I clean or change the pad? Is it after every panel? Like after doing a door or trunk, will I need to replace the pad or just clean it? Or can I just use one pad for the entire car without cleaning it? Sorry for the dumb question, I’m a nervous novice lol 😬
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing Месяц назад
Hi. No worries. great questions. It really depends on the type of polishing you are doing. Sometimes you only need to use the air compressor to blow out the pads after each polishing section. Check the pad and see if the polishes are gumming up the pads. Usually we use 2-4 pads per vehicle.
@mutatedgenome
@mutatedgenome Месяц назад
Nice work. How similar are the Rupes yellow and LC orange pads? Are you still using the original SPTA batteries for your cordless polisher or have you purchased replacements? Where?
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing Месяц назад
Hi. The yellow pads cut better in my opinion. I really like them also. I haven’t purchased any new SPTA batteries from them. I did buy a pair of OEM Makita Batteries and use them along with the original SPTA batteries.

It's a Holden Commodore Caprice from Australia. The paint should be like concrete.
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing Месяц назад
Yes. That’s right! Yeah it was kinda hard paint. But definitely not the hardest we have worked on.
@Scuppun
@Scuppun Месяц назад
@MirandaDetailing Before car manufacturing was killed off in Australia, Ford, Toyota and Holden used to make their paint very thick and hardened to take high UV exposure. Great for longevity, but always problematic to work with. If you get the chance, check the paint on a 2004 GTO (aka, Holden Monaro). It's like they poured the paint on it.
