Just when we thought we were in the clear we have ANOTHER EMERGENCY VISIT!! This time for our sweet little Finley, literally had us running to the veterinary emergency room for a possible HERNIATED DISK in the early hours of the morning to get ER x-rays from the vet! Medication tip, our pom had to be on long term meds both liquid and pill. We wrapped the pills in sugar cookie dough, she loved it. We had the liquid meds compounded at our pharmacy in different flavors, beef, chicken. She loved that too. We also to keep her entertained while she had to rest, we used a kong with peanut butter in it. Hope Finn feels better quickly❤

Poor little guy. I would avoid asking him to jump up or off any furniture now. Always pick him up and help him down, or get steps for him. ❤

I would recommend not letting him jump up and down on furniture or anything. It can injure his little spine. And sometimes its dangerous. My cousin is a vet tech and she told me when i got my new puppy not to let her jump up and down on things. I never have and just pick her up when needed. Hope he gets well soon. 🙏🏻❤️

Poor Finn, he will be feeling better soon! My Archie had a similar injury right before Christmas. He was playing with his sister, and she jumped on him and pushed him down next to the bathtub, and he yelped. I didn't think anything of it cause they do it all the time. The next day, he wouldn't eat and was very lethargic. Took him, and they gave him fluids and thought he had a virus. Went back 2 days later for a check-up and saw our normal vet. She started examining him and figured out it was a pinched nerve in his neck. Took a couple of weeks with anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxers, and he was back to normal. Keep taking good care of him! ❤❤❤

I worked for a veterinarian for 23 years (when I was younger) and it was the best job I ever had. I think you guys are doing all you can for our little Finners. 🐾🐾🐾🐾 Bed rest, lots of love, ❤❤❤❤❤❤and medication, and no stairs for a while. Give him a kiss and hug from Vickie in Illinois. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I saw a video yesterday with a trick to give liquid meds. Fill the syringe with the meds then dunk the syringe in peanut butter. As the doggie is licking the peanut butter, you give the dog the medicine. It was genius!

I’m so sorry to hear about Finn, it is so worrying. My Fur Baby tore his cruciate ligament 2 years ago so we had 4 months of cage rest & I slept downstairs on the sofa for 6 months with him but we do what we have to to help them heal. Wishing you a speedy recovery Finn ❤️🐶. ❤️🇬🇧

So sorry to hear about little Finn! Looks like he is on the mend. Poor baby!🥺I always was a wreck when one of my cats wasn’t well. It hurts your heart. When our grandpup got kennel cough he was prescribed a cough medicine and we had to give it to him with a syringe. It took two of us to give him the meds. I learned that if you just squirt the meds on the side of his mouth (since he wouldn't open his mouth) a little at a time we eventually got the meds into him. He also had a pill he had to take and we got a pate type food in a pouch and wrapped some around the pill and he would almost just swallow the whole thing at once.

My 8 yr old Yorkie just had a pulled muscle on his right side. It was the same as Finners, wouldn't get up on his bench to get on the couch or while on his walk he wouldn't do his same outside routine. It took about 6 days till he felt secure to jump up on his own. Prayers for your sweet fur baby. Prayers for you both and both families.

Hi, poor Finn, our little guy got sick about a week ago and we took him to a veterinary emergency group hospital. VEG. They were so amazing. They saved our little guy. He was there on IVs and meds for 5 days and they set up a room for us with him. He's home now and back to normal. So thankful for this group.

I’m glad to hear that little Finners is on the mend, we have 5 dogs, they’re my ‘kids’, I know how emotional it can be when they get hurt, or get sick. For future reference, the next time you have to give Finners medicine (pill form) and he’s not being cooperative, ha, put it on a bite size piece of bread, put a little vanilla ice cream on top of it, enough so it oozes out the side, put another bite size piece of bread on top of the ice cream, it’s kinda like they’re getting their very own little ice cream sandwich. I know dogs aren’t really supposed to have bread or ice cream, but when you’re desperate for them to take their medicine it works every time, they like the taste of the vanilla ice cream so much that they’re oblivious to the medicine that’s in it.☺️

Those plants with the pineapple are Bromeliads. Bromeliads are a type of succulent plants that can be found in tropical climates. The four main genera include Guzmania, Neoregelia, Vriesea, and Ananas comosus 'Champaca. ' All of these genera are succulents, but they have different features that make them distinct. I hope Finners is on the mend. It looks like Nora is taking great care of him 😊

Make sure the baby food doesn't have onion in it. They can't eat things with onion or garlic in it.

Always found the easiest way to give the liquids was to draw the meds in a syringe, put it between the teeth and inside of the cheek and squirt towards the back molar area. Good luck. Meds are so hard.

Poor Finn. Oh how our little fur babies break our hearts. My dog is not great at taking medication either. I find the best thing is pate. It’s smelly and strong tasting so disguises the taste of the medication. If you need him to stay calm and not distracted by his surroundings. You could put a lite blanket over the crate, leaving the front open for light and air circulation.

JARED: look up IVDD. It is EXTREMELY common in poodles or poodle mixes. The symptoms are exactly Finn's. (My little sweetheart sometimes plays too aggressively with the cat and it affects her about once a year.) Good news is: only lasts about a week. Bless you, little Finners.

Our little pup takes a daily medication and we put the pill in a dab of crunchy peanut butter. No Xylitol though because that can be toxic to dogs. We have her a bit of the PB with some of the chunks inside first, the. The second dab had the pill after the first time she begs for her “peanut butter” every day! I hope Finn gets better soon. 💙

So hard to know when they can't tell you. My one dog a few years ago due to a back issue lost the ability to walk on his back legs. But after a few hours and some meds from the ER vet he was better. We then went to a chiropractor on and off that really helped. Oh Finn you look so sad right now. But rest is the best for you. Take it easy buddy. We love you. 💖💖💖

I am so glad Finn is okay. I am a dog mom as well and I am always worried that something will happen that is out of my control. I do currently have an eleven year old chihuahua who gets extremely tired walking so I bought him a doggy stroller for the park so he can nap and I can walk.
