THIS MUSEUM showcases how the sea played a key role in the growth of coastal cities and the primary reason for their development over 6,000 years ago
The significance of the sea to Sharjah’s development unfolds through well-presented displays on pearling, fishing and trading. There are displays of wooden dhows, including a full-size pearling boat, along with fishing and diving equipment and tools.
Discover how Arabia’s famous pearls were collected and admire a stunning specimen discovered by archaeologists in a coastal cemetery in Sharjah, which is believed to be one of the oldest known pearls in the world.
As part of the "Because We Care" initiative by Sharjah Museum Authority, Sharjah Aquarium is running a yearly campaign to clean up the marine environment and spread awareness about protecting it. This campaign focuses on instilling respect for nature and preserving the beauty of these waters.
