My parents who were almost going to get a divorce, were forced to stay united after intense efforts by the relatives. My mother was a teacher & could be financially independent, but her parents made her live with my father by showing his wealth, especially for society. Not only did this decision affect our parents, but also impacted us. We can't run as a family together. There won't be peace. Not willing to share much here.. Our parents used to say that they r staying together for us;otherwise, they would lead their own lives happily. We feel guilty bcoz we didn't ask for such sacrifice from them. All bcoz of the social pressure. This society won't allow people who sincerely love each other to unite by showing their caste, religion, etc but makes two people who really wants to separate apart to live together & ruin their entire life. Divorce is not a crime. Certain things need to be changed bcoz life is only once that too it is one-way road.

vro, few months earlier, I saw a court judgement saying a husband who didn't even have job was asked to pay alimony to his wife. He had ill parents, but the judge said healthy adult can earn atleast 7k(don't know the correct number), and should pay atleast 2k alimony. Ithelaam ovara illaya. Men can also ask alimony, but rarely asks or gets. Sometimes law's unfair to women too; As times are changing, we should also adapt laws and make it fair for both parties.
