I have been doing the red light therapy bulb with Castor oil on my face every night before bed. I find the red light VERY calming (opposite of all that stimulating blue light from our phones and TVs, right??). While under the lamp, I meditate. Meditation does me so much good, but I often procrastinate because of "all the things I could be doing instead with that 20 minutes" (stupid excuses!). Anyway, pairing it with the red light has really justified it for me. It feels amazing to close my day with this doable-duty practice!
Just found your channel looking for castor oil for the eyes… what a complete blessing your channel is!!! Thank you!!! My husband is from Lafayette so we all about the Cajuns baby, even though we are in NC now.. sending you tons of love for much success with your work.
I love that! My husband's family is from Grand Coteau/ Sunset area, but I was born and raised in Ascension Parish. We now live outside of Huntsville, AL! We flooded in August of 2016 and moved up here in 2018. Glad you found the channel! XO
I’m so glad I found your channel couple of weeks ago. I have now also purchased my own red therapy ball from Amazon. I thank you so very much for that information and I do have my castor oil. I’m gonna start anointing myself with it and taking care of myself first every day.🌹💝🌹
Thank you for the informative video! I watched it through and may have missed it - but do you use red light 20 minutes everyday or do you do it like 5 times a week? Is it 20 minutes a day forever?
@@susanwilshaw459 The general recommendations is 3-4 times per week for 20 minutes a day. I use it everyday because I enjoy it so much, you don't have to do it that much though. When I skip it, I really miss it.
Thank you, I have one that does get hot that I bought to use for my dog that had back problems. It did seem to help her and made her more mobile which gave her life better. I purchased the Wolezek one and will use that one for me.
It may be as simple as the red light warms the oil and opens the skin just enough that it soaks in better than it was doing otherwise. Historically cultures who bathed and anointed with oil spent a lot of time under a bright sun; the combination of the light and the oil probably works together, we just don’t understand the science of it yet. Your skin does look brilliant, though, and I’m going to try this myself to see if I get similar results!
Yes, absolutely! As a kid of the 80's who never used sunscreen (and as a teen, used non-stick cooking spray to tan) I couldn't be happier with my results. You could be totally right!
I love your channel🩷 II also use the same amazon bulb you use and I slather castor oil on my face everyday!! I love love love the changes in my face! I wanted to mention to you that I had a big mole on my neck that has always made me feel self conscious...I rubbed castor oil on this mole and yesterday was 10 days of doing this. It is gone!!! It kept shrinking to nothing!! im so happy about this! Just wanted to share..I also have before and after pics on this.. just truly amazing how much the castor oil and red light therapy have changed everything for me for the better!! Thank you for your wonderful channel!!!😍🩷🩷🩷
Thank you for this information. I bought the red light and will ask my doctor to make double sure the meds I’m taking won’t interfere with it. I don’t have Lupus or hypothyroidism. The castor oil is doing great things!
This was a good basic video. I think your next one should include more details about the spec range for the red & infrared, the irradiance info, how long you need to use it for. Etc. For more details & science Alex Fergus here on YT goes into great detail about rlt & analyzes hundreds of products. Also Penn Smith Skincare here on YT has tons of videos 0n rlt and devices and science. I use a panel from Hooga. It's a terrific company. Most are not reputable. You do need to be careful what you buy. Thank you so much
I'm a licensed professional and yes Hooga is an awesome company. Check out their other colored bulbs, I got the green one for capillary redness and it works wonders 🙂
@@nikigfied4939 Tried Hoogas green bulb for several months 3-4x a week for 5-7 min at about 12" away. Unfortunately noticed no change in my pigmentation. So hard to tackle it and I do & use so many things
@@nikigfied4939 I bought their bulb. I used it for a few months several times a week for 5-10min. Indient notice anything with my hyperpigmentation. Maybe I'll try the aduro mask so I can move around. I have the Hooga panel and use the red and nir
I am so glad I found your channel!! I'm now a new subscriber! Have you seen where Castor Oil has helped with removing cherry angiomas? Im menopausal and recently had a bunch appear on my skin.
Thank you for all the great info. I have been looking at these. I do own a small light weight panel that I love. However, I actually think this light may be stronger and a very helpful option. Anyhow, NOT trying to sell anything, but the 15" light I have been looking at comes with an adjustable tripod @ $69.99. It has a $15 off coupon which makes it very affordable and it has a 9ft cord. With the coupon it makes it $54.99. I am not a plus size, but I absolutely love your videos and the fact that you are a fan of Barbara O'Neill warms my heart. Have been a follower of hers for a very long time. Your videos are always packed with wonderful, useful and accurate information. Can't wait for the next one.
There's antidotal evidence now that castor oil and red light therapy are a great combo. Claudia Glows just did a video with the creator of Maysama who has done extensive research on the benefits + technology behind red light therapy. I think your original video is what led to her doing research on the efficacy of castor oil when combined with RLT. I can tell you that for me personally, it was your video and your results that led me to try it for myself and I'm a licensed professional!
@@debralustig765 Full body red light usually is less time for full absorption. So invigorating! I tried using red light at night a few times and CAN NOT sleep. It's wild!
Can you please send me the link for the red light . Where I can purchase as well as the castor oil. Thank you. You are very well knowledgeable. God bless you
Red Light Lamp with Stand,180LEDs Red Light,660nm & 850nm Near Infrared Light Lamp for Home Use thinking of buying this am in the UK how often do you do RLT ❤
Hey Mandy, I think you have the coolest accent. I love to listen to you. I know you are from the south but which state exactly? I live on Vancouver island it is on the west coast of Canada. We don’t get snow much snow lbut a ton of rain. Only in the winter months. Thank you for all your info.
Thank you so much!! I'm born and raised in Deep South Louisiana. My family is cajun French. I try to hold the accent back a lot, but every once in a while it really comes through. I now live in Alabama, so I'm influenced by their dialect a lot too. LOL!
I am glad I came across your channel. Can you please let me know if you use castor oil just when doing the red light therapy and after remove it, or keep it on your face all day? Thank you
Sure! So, I use castor oil as the last step in my skincare routine every night, but in the morning I wipe my face with a wet wash cloth and then add more castor oil. That's when I sit under the red light for 20 minutes. Right after that, I wash my face with cleanser and then start my day.
Anyone else getting positive results from Ruby Lux near in far red bulbs? We've been using them since the pandemic to kill viruses and decrease pain/inflamation and anti aging. They do have some heat to them but it's not uncomfortable.
Should we cover our eyes? I have genetic hirisituism (hair on my jawline and chin) and yes, I shave it! Is there another oil you would recommend I use with the red light?
I did buy tanning goggles also in 2021 and used them for about a year and then I was like - wait a minute - the main area I’m trying to treat is around my eyes, so now I just lay there with my eyes closed. And I’ll admit, it’s very bright for the first 30 seconds or so, but then it’s great. I always say it’s like sitting in the sun on a bright spring morning, so if you have seasonal depression or live in a climate that doesn’t get regular sunlight - you will absolutely love it. Use your own discretion though. If you feel like you need em, use em. Also, you can use castor oil just on the areas you need it and avoid areas you don't. You can also skip the oil entirely! The RLT will do good work on its own. :)
Hey beautiful soul! So I ordered that light that you linked the day i found you watched your video. And i received my light, but i got scared cause not all the lights, light up. I turned it on and took a picture of it to ask you. Is this right?
I have a question beautiful!! I do my whole facial routine at night, cleanse, tone, Tretinoin, vitamin c, niacinamide, peptides and then my moisturizer. After about an hour or so, right before bed when i put my Castor Oil on my whole body, including my face, i do my red light. (I bought the same light and set up as you) is this ok?
Awe thank YOU pretty lady! Personally, I'd only use it with just castor oil. To test your routine, I'd take a before and after now and see how your skin looks and reacts to it in about a month. You should be clearer and more vibrant. Otherwise, I'd just use it with a clean face or with just castor oil only. XO
Castor oil is fab.I’m 49 no crows feet wrinkles (thanks Mum & Dad) but have a few sun spots on my forehead. The masks are so expensive. Can I ask will the bulb mark my carpet am in the UK
That is a great question! I honestly don't know the answer to that. I've had it pointing at my leather couch for years and no markings or discoloration so far. If you don't mind me asking...why would it mark the carpet? 🥰😘
@@UhapiBeautyhonestly I was just thinking about my rug that has faded where the sun comes through so thought maybe my carpet could also be effected by RLT
I have the same lamp, i got scared off because my chest hair was growing stronger 😅. I didnt try 6 inches from the face tho, maybe I’ll give it another try!
Hi Mandy ❤ Thank you so much for your videos! I tried this today on my face. I have a lamp i bought many years ago which I never used, it has red light and infrared light together. I could turn on either one but today I used both (a switch to turn on both lights together). I had the light a little bit further away than you. I did 16 minutes and after that my face was slightly reddish, not much, just a bit. Is that fine? Do you have this effect? Do you perhaps know if its okay that both red light and infrared light are turned on while I do this?
Can you send me the brand name and model number of the lamp, if possible? I will do some research for you and let you know. Honestly, it's been so long since I started using RLT that I don't remember if I flushed at the beginning. My gut reaction though, is that I did not. Usually, the red light has a specific nanometer (around 600 - 700) which works in conjunction with the near-infrared to penetrate. That is around 800 - 890 nm. I can't ever recall seeing one that was "either/or."
I found these numbers on a chart: Wavelength: 660 RID & 850 NIR I think they no longer produce this lamp, i found a chart that compared the new generation 3.0 to the 2.0. It says treatment range 4-6inches. Light output 68.6 watts. i´ve no clue what these numbers mean. I really appreciate your research and help ❤
@@chickenfeathers9233 Ok, I just did some research. To me, it looks like a solid product! Some people who've purchased this (saw some comments on Reddit) say that they question its effectiveness due to the small number of lights. The majority though say that after 4 - 5 months of usage, they saw a huge difference in their skin. Maybe try it tomorrow for 10 minutes instead of the full 16, like you mentioned. It could be that your skin is prone to flushing with near-infrared. That's not a bad thing. Also, do you use skincare products or medications that could make you photosensitive? That could be a reason for flushing as well.
Red Light Therapy: Miracle Medicine (The Future of Medicine: The 3 Greatest Therapies Targeting Mitochondrial Dysfunction) amzn.to/3UJsRds Very insightful!
@@UhapiBeauty The Red Light Bulb you use has only 18Watts power. Mine R.L.Panel has 200 W Power. In that case , I think I should stay more than 12 inches away without eye protection?!
Can you pls clarify the comments about Melasma? You left me confused. If you have melasma, dont use RIR? But then you said you use skincare for your melasma but you do use RIR?
It really depends on the masks and the nanometers imo, but I've never been keen on the masks. Check the light to see if it's actually red or if it's a red coating also.
@@UhapiBeauty I have the omnilux mask so I know it is the real deal. I have been seeing amazing results with the mask alone but I thought I give your idea a try and see if it does anything for me. Apparently, my skin does better when used separately.
@@keinohrtini Totally! Someone else mentioned the same. They started putting the castor oil immediately after the RLT and saw great results instead of using them together. Hey, results are results right?! 🥰🥳🥳
@@UhapiBeauty isn’t hypothyroidism an under active thyroid? Maybe you meany hyper.. that’s an overactive thyroid, maybe I’m mixed up. Love your channel, realized I’m using the red heat lamp 😔 thanks for setting me straight
@@kirstens5688 Yes, I'm sorry - my computer must have auto-corrected or I typed it incorrectly. I meant overactive thyroid. I mentioned in the video at 11:20 that people with overactive thyroid shouldn't use the red light. Sorry for the confusion. 🥰
I'm not sure about that. I found this very interesting article though. France is using it to counteract cancer treatment side effects. www.france24.com/en/tv-shows/science/20240205-red-light-therapy-used-to-mitigate-side-effects-of-cancer-treatment
Heat lamps work. I used one for a good while. Beurer il 50. It's a better implementation than a bulb like she showed, because there's a fan, so you can get closer without burning your skin. For me, 30 cm. It's not true that it's specific wavelengths either. There's a spectrum that works. But the most common ones are 650/660 and 850. But those are not the only ones that work.
That model is only issued for sore muscles, blood flow. etc. It's not for the face/skincare and fine lines/wrinkles. I downloaded the user manual and it uses a Halogen light bulb. Those can cause cancer per this study - pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8944342/ Here is the link to the downloadable user manual on their website. www.shop-beurer.com/products/beurer-infrared-heat-lamp-il51 No doubt that is infrared, which is great for penetrating the skin, but only for aches and pains.
@@UhapiBeauty You made a blanket statement in the video, and that statement is wrong. Your clarification is better. I know of someone who used it for the face and felt she got benefits from it. But on the whole I agree the Beurer is not ideal for the face. As far cancer, it's also very watt hungry. I don't use mine anymore because I found something I like better and it costs a bit much. I would still use it under some circumstances, though.
@@annelisabethcom From everything I understand about RLT, it's LED diodes and very low levels of heat. Hot heat, just like a hot bath, isn't good for the skin and can cause damage over time. Not to say that heat doesn't help skincare sink into the skin because it does, but true red light therapy uses LED lights and by nature, don't get hot. I'm also assuming that's the blanket statement you meant. Sorry if I misunderstand.
@@UhapiBeauty Leds are a late comer to the party, so no, that's not «true RLT». Most research was done with laser. Laser works a little differently in that it goes straight through tissue, while led goes zig zag through. But red light is pretty hard to mess up from a technical standpoint, though you can mess up the application. I have some mini panels I bought cheaply while I was in Thailand. About the same price as your bulbs, which I also have tried. Those mini panels are much better, since they run off a power bank (there's a version with built in battery). No or close to no EMF. I recommend you check out Gembared for technical stuff and Alex Ferguson (if I remember the name correctly) for comparisons and reviews. No need to buy expensive stuff for the face or even the body unless you need a big, good panel. I don't like panels, because you either need an expensive stand or you need to stand in front of it. There are smaller ones that hage built in stands, though. Probably expensive in the US and UK, but there are AliExpress versions.
