Carroll has a history of allowing his players and staff to play to their strengths. I believe Carroll will allow MacDonald to do his job unhindered.

In relationship to Pete Carroll still being there as an advisor, I think Mike is brilliant and brilliant people always utilize all of the assets available to be the best they can be. No threat and only good.

Remember that Ravens Defense wasnt good until they got Ro. That miami collapse was when he was DC.

This whole Ravens-Michigan saga is now just entertaining to me. And John Harbaugh has now gotten the short end of the stick. Early 2021, Jim Harbaugh coming off that horrible COVID season at Michigan, taps his brother John for suggestions on how to totally revamp his defense after he fired Don Brown. John tells him he has two brilliant analysts up and coming that are coaching material, and he's planning on sending them to the college ranks anyway to see how they do. Their names are Mike MacDonald and Jesse Minter. Harbaugh decides to get Mike Mac, so Jesse Minter goes to Vanderbilt. Mike Mac did an amazing 1 year turnaround job with Michigan, they beat Ohio State, win the Big 10 championship and make it to the 4 team College Championship playoffs. They lose to Georgia, who goes on to win it all. They do lose 1 regular season game against MSU because... well.. Kenneth Walker III was pretty much unstoppable. He put that Spartans team on his shoulders that day. Mike Mac gets recalled to the Ravens for 2022, so Jim poaches Minter from Vanderbilt to replace him. Minter does an outstanding job, same story as the year before, except no regular season losses, beats OSU even bigger margin in 2022 and they come close to winning the first game of the 4 team playoff. 2023 was even wilder. The defense was very clearly the best unit of the team, if not the entire country. Unbelievably good defense. They win it all. Now Jim wants to go to the NFL and he takes Minter with him to the LA Chargers. If Jim had stayed at Michigan, Minter almost certainly would have been poached by John to replace Mike Mac. He was NFL bound one way or another, I have a feeling. He was just too good. Instead, Jim keeps him while both transition back to the NFL. We'll see what John and the Ravens do to replace him. Maybe Baltimore just has a factory of brilliant defensive coaches. I have no idea.

As a Chargers fan. Don't believe that just because someone is a dominate DC in the NFL doesn't mean they will be a great coach. Brandon Staley proved that..he did wonders with the Rams defense years ago and we all see how it turned out lol

For Bill to still not have a job tells me it’s things probably going on behind the scenes the public not aware of. Just like it was reported years ago he called the wrong coach to congratulate him on a job he didn’t even interview for yet that ended up going to somebody else before it was made public. With the rumors Andy Reid might be leaving after this season , bill might just be waiting til the Super Bowl over with for him to be hired as KC new head coach

Solid hire considering Seattle is not a great job any longer. They have a strong fan base that will support a team that wins 8 or 9 games a season so that's a positive for the new coach.

MacDonald is a product of the team where he came from. Nothing more, nothing less. But the team he came from doesn't go with him. At 36 he's in a daunting position which will require skills and experience that takes much more experience than he possess' And that's not a cheap shot at him, either. But it will take a bit of time for him to rise to the challenges that lay ahead. It ain't in 2024, fans.

Sooo much hype about this. Keep in mind everyone Mike only had 1 good year with a already stacked defense with the ravens. Not to mention ravens as a whole are known to have good defense year in and year out. I believe it was the addition of Roquan Smith that evolved the defense. Mike McDonald will truly be tested now as a HC. Lets not get too excited, could be a bust.

Pete will have nothing to do with day to day operations. Pete will show up to charity events and get $15 million a year for the next 2 years. Geno is fine at QB, we need two good guards and two defensive line studs. In other words we need really big, hungry, talented players. If we can get those Geno is fine. I have watched Nathan Rourke play for the BC Lions and Ohio University. Bring him in as number two to be number 1 2025. Vrabel like Pete Carroll will not coach unless they have total control. That wont happen in Washington

It will take years to clean up the mess on defense Pete Carrol and John Schneider brought to this club. Thank goodness Pete Carrol is gone, he had the most incredible tight ends and receivers in the NFL and what does he do, he RUNS IT ON FIRST DOWN CONSTANTLY. IT WAS SO PREDICTABLE. Why did it take him so long to realize Barton and Adams were useless? Yes, Wagner was one of the greatest players Seattle ever had, but why bring him back when it's so obvious he has lost a step and is not the same player. It's time to fire John Schneider next because he is huge part of this club's failure. The only way this team can compete is if they bring in A CREATIVE OFFENSIVE COACH LIKE A CHIP KELLY AND TURN THE RECIEVER LOOSE.
