When you are successful you become a target no matter your personality or sport. The NBA used to fly commercial back in the 80's. Our country has become more violent and unpredictable than 40 years ago. With the advent of social media that discontent just get fueled that much more. Life has changed. Back in the 50's and 60's we left our keys in the car with the windows down in public. Once we discarded Christianity and the moral base it provided each successive generation has declined that much more.
If she was as popular as Clark she could get the same treatment but she should be glad people are now starting to watch wnba more than they ever did before
While I completely understand that Clark has brought the fan base to WNBA.....and understand her safety....there must be a fine line drawn to keep it balanced. I do understand she is a generational player however, they can NOT play favorites . I don't think it is fair nor right that they are putting her on a pedestal. There are so many "generational" players in the program and none of them have experienced the hype like CC. I think it will honestly be too much for her to handle. It will cause division among the players on her team and among the teams. This is a delicate situation and they need to handle it seriously.
