SHAME! Assam Tourism MUST BE ASHAMED.
The religiously significant - Ambubachi Mela at Maa Kamakhya Mandir in Assam, ends this year. But, Assam Tourism must be ashamed of how they arranged facilities for the Sadhus and Sanyasis.
Amidst the three-day-long holy festival, Sadhus and Sanyasis who came from different parts of the country, had to ‘protest’ for the lack of toilet facilities and health camps. Due to the scorching heat, many of the elderly Sadhus and Sanyasis needed health check-ups, which they claim, were not adequate.
It is shameful when within the holy premises of Maa Kamakhya, Sadhus and Sanyasis had to protest for lack of basic facilities.
Meanwhile, Assam Tourism sponsors ‘so-called’ off-season cultural festivals for crores but fails to uphold the spirit of Maa Kamakhya’s biggest festival. Is religion only a political agenda?
